On the Shannon we call this a docking manoeuvre. The only unusual thing here is the size of the boat! 😆⚓ Proof that no matter how big your boat is, parking is still the hardest part! 🚢

Liveaboard life isn't for everyone
And here in Ireland? Sure, we've got the canals, we've got the craic, but what we don't have is the infrastructure or the policies to match

🗣️ Everybody said it was the most stupid thing to do, buying a massive and ancient Dutch barge when I know nothing whatsoever about boats and I am certainly not a handyman. Even dafter, doing it at my great age, which was 88 at the time. Yes, I was so young and foolish back in 2024. I got carried away by the romance and fantasy and impulses which can flood over you, even in your dotage.
