📢 New Research Published
We're delighted to share the recently published Realist Evaluation of HSE-Funded Social Prescribing Services in Ireland, which highlights the powerful role social prescribing plays in improving wellbeing, reducing loneliness and connecting people with supports in their communities.
We are especially proud that Mayo's pioneering social prescribing service is recognised throughout the report, with our colleagues Lisa Marren and Máire Ní Dhomhnaill contributing as members of the National Advisory Board.

A big thank you to Midwest Radio for helping us promote our new schools campaign

The Family Centre, Castlebar has launched its “Turn It Inside Out” campaign, a community-focused initiative designed to encourage young people to speak more openly about their feelings and emotional wellbeing.

The campaign invites schools to take part during the month of May by choosing a day where students and staff wear an item of clothing inside out – a visual reminder that how we appear on the outside does not always reflect how we feel on the inside and helps to open up important conversations about emotions and mental health within the classroom.

Schools interested in participating can contact [email protected] or sign up online at:

WEAR IT FOR SOMEONE YOU LOVE.
For a friend.
For family.
For someone struggling.
Or for yourself.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, take part in the Turn It Inside Out campaign from 18th – 22nd May and help show that no one has to face their struggles alone.

By wearing one item of clothing inside out, we can start conversations, raise awareness, and remind people that support matters.

Wear one item of clothing inside out
Dedicate it to someone important to you
Start conversations about mental health
Make a donation of any amount
Support children, young people and families through The Family Centre Castlebar

Sometimes the smallest actions can make someone feel seen.

YOUTH VOICES. REAL CONVERSATIONS.

“Talking about it didn’t make it worse. It made it shared.”

When young people feel safe to open up, powerful things can happen. Conversations can reduce isolation, build connection, and remind someone that they are not alone.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, schools are invited to take part in our Turn It Inside Out campaign from 18th – 22nd May.

Wear one item of clothing inside out
Encourage honest conversations about mental health
Listen without judgement
Make a donation of any amount
Help support young people and families through The Family Centre Castlebar

Because when we talk about what’s hidden, we help carry it together.
