They worked long hours in dangerous conditions, often facing low pay, poor lodgings, injury, and discrimination. Yet their labour carried a country forward.

Every journey on the M1, M6, M4, M62 or M8 carries the memory of Irish hands.

They were not forgotten labourers.
They were builders of Britain.
