Cashel Arts Festival September 10th -13th 2026
Music, Workshops, Visual Arts, Theatre, Talks, Family Events, Dance, Street Spectacles and much much more

Cashel Arts Festival is a four-day festival set in the town of Cashel in County Tipperary, famous for the ancient and iconic Rock of Cashel. The significant heritage sites in the town form a dramatic backdrop to a fine selection of contemporary arts events every autumn. Take your pick from music, dance, visual arts, film, theatre, workshops, family events and literature events. Involving and encou

raging visitors and the local community to participate in a wide variety of arts is key to the festival. Whether you want to sit back and be entertained or get ‘stuck in’ and learn something new, this festival will have something for you. Placing great importance on inclusivity ensures that many events are free and some have special offers or concessions. The festival has strong links to the community it serves and plays an integral part in connecting community groups in the locality. It also welcomes visitors to Cashel, giving them an opportunity to extend their stay by offering exciting arts events in this wonderfully historic town. Supporting professional artists in developing their work and giving them a platform to perform is also a vital role of the festival, with most artists involved in the festival usually based in Ireland. Strong links with artists built-up over the 20 years the festival has been running ensures that high-quality events are the hallmark of the festival.

A busy week ahead as our Outreach Programme begins!
As part of Cashel Arts Festival’s ongoing commitment to outreach and arts engagement, we are delighted to welcome Kate Mitchell to deliver a series of circus workshops throughout June for local schools and community groups. We are delighted to welcome Caoilfhionn Gallagher KC to Cashel to deliver the 9th annual Bolton Lecture on Saturday, 12th September.

Caoilfhionn Gallagher KC is one of the world’s leading human rights lawyers. Over the past 25 years she has acted in many landmark cases in the UK, Europe and internationally, including representing bereaved families of the Hillsborough Disaster and the 7/7 London Bombings, and in test cases which have changed laws on children’s rights, for survivors of abuse, and on access to abortion in Northern Ireland.

Internationally, Caoilfhionn’s work for wrongfully imprisoned people has seen her take on governments around the world, and she has secured the freedom of over 85 wrongly imprisoned journalists, bloggers, cartoonists, businesspeople, and activists (and one rapper). She is the world’s leading expert on accountability for deaths of journalists and regularly acts for bereaved families of journalists killed for their work. Caoilfhionn was appointed a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2017 for her “outstanding contribution to the protection of human rights,” for devising a mass advertising campaign to highlight positive stories about the Human Rights Act. In 2023 she was awarded the President of Ireland’s Distinguished Service Award and in 2025 she was Irish Tatler’s International Woman of the Year.

Event Announcement.....
Cashel Arts Festival is proud to host a very special performance by Pat Marnane, as he launches his new album "Music, Memories, My Piano and Me".

A familiar figure behind the scenes at the festival for many years through his work in sound production, Pat steps into the spotlight this year to share a deeply personal collection of songs—his first full album of original material.

With a musical journey spanning over four decades across Ireland and the United States, Pat brings a lifetime of experience to the stage. His new songs are built on storytelling and rich melodies, reflecting on the roads travelled, the people met, and the memories that have stayed with him.

The album features heartfelt pieces such as “Another Road”, a song about finding your way back to what you love, and “This Road I Ride”, inspired by years of touring across America. At its emotional core is “For Sheila”, a moving tribute to his late mother, celebrating a shared life filled with music and fond memories.

This launch performance is a particularly meaningful one, taking place close to home and within a festival that has long been part of Pat’s musical life. Joined by a full band, he looks forward to bringing these songs to life in a special evening of music, reflection, and connection.

A night not to be missed.
