About We are a non-aligned group of Irish citizens/citizen groups. We object to Irish Water and the plans to install water/smart meters at every home. Description We are a non-aligned group of Irish citizens/citizen groups. Our website is available for use by all non-aligned citizens and citizen groups to publicise their disquiet against Irish Water. Some individuals/groups are more radical than others, some more concerned with one aspect of Irish Water than another. The aim of our website is to give a common portal, a web presence to all such individuals and groups. We will endeavour to link to other websites, Twitter, Facebook and other social media accounts/web pages and to provide a space for downloadable resources and to upload pictures relevant to the struggle. http://www.fliuch.org/ This site is a portal for information, downloads and links (resources) in the fight against the Troika's pillaging of our national utilities, with a special focus on Irish Water. We object to the plans to install Smart Meters at every home, the plans to install Automated Meter Reading (AMR) along with an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) - all with the intention of eventually privatising (selling off) Irish Water. Irish people have paid for their water infrastructure over the years via income tax - this was the understanding that Irish people had - now we are being fed the lie that we must be like our EU neighbours and pay for our water - while €11 billion of water infrastructure is given to Irish Water gratis. What Irish media (and government politicians) fail to point out is that most other EU citizens get a far higher quality of public services - i.e. a bigger bang for their buck. You simply cannot compare the current system in Ireland to any other EU country - it's like comparing apples and oranges. On top of that many Irish media outlets have been compromised and are biased due to the owners of media outlets also benefiting from the roll-out of metering and AMR/AMI. Many of us also object to the AMR/AMI plans on the basis of health and safety under the Precautionary Principle.
