From April 11–12, 2022, Michael Snee (58) and Aiden Moffatt (42) lost their lives in a homophobic attack.

A few days before Anthony Burke (50) was attacked by the same man and lost his sight in one eye. Mr Burke was also outed subsequently following the media attention surrounding the case.

By all accounts all three men led their personal lives in a private manner and the murderer preyed on this.

The murderer was sentenced to life imprisonment on Monday, October 23, 2023.

Our community needs to do better for older LGBT+ people and offer support and dignity.
