Hacketstown community group is made up of a small collection of people who work alongside the people of the town with the aim to make it a better place to live and work for everyone involved. Eagle Hill, south of the town, has delightful views from its summit and most of

the county can be seen spread out below. Surrounded by woodland and farmland, the village is a gateway to the higher Wicklow mountains to the east and the beaches of Wexford to the south. ACTIVITIES: Situated at the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains, the area has a wide variety of walks including a Sli na SlΓ‘inte route.

Carlow County Council’s Tullow Municipal District Office gives notice that, subject to weather conditions, the L747 roadway at Blindennis, Ballinagilky, Hacketstown, Co. Carlow (Hacketstown to Tinahely road) will have temporary traffic restrictions on it from Monday 8th June 2026 to Friday 12th June 2026 inclusive between 8:00am and 4:30pm each day. These restrictions will be in the form of temporary traffic lights with a single lane closure.

This is to facilitate road drainage improvement works and as an endeavour to maximise safety for road users and operatives alike.

Carlow County Council apologizes for any inconvenience that this shall cause and shall endeavour to have the restrictions removed as soon as it is safe for all to do so.
