we kicked of Biodiversity Week with our annual kick sampling in our local river 'The River Derreen' with Transition Year Coláiste Eoin students. The student got to take part and record their finding, as you can see from the score sheet the water quality is clean.

We were absolutely thrilled to win the award for community projects in the carlow pride of place awards last night, there are a lot of fantastic community groups that enter every year and to be announced as the winner of the category is a huge achievement, well done to everyone that entered and congratulationsto all the winneres. Congratulations to The Corner coming in second place in Commercial premises awards.

We have carried out a huge amount of work over the last 12 months, finishing the edging and new surface on the path, new raised beds for growing vegetables and installing a hopscotch for the children to enjoy, hibernation tower and a rainwater harvesting butt.

We'd like to thank Carlow County Council and the judges for there acknowledgement, We have worked hard over the last 5 years to create a space for the community and visitors to come and enjoy.

We are so proud of the garden and the fact that we are inspiring other communities to create new habitats for their local wildlife. If Anyone can help the Tullow Mens Shed with this part of their new project we're sure it would be greatly appreciated. Wishing the lads from the men's shed the best of luck creating a beautiful space for everyone to enjoy.

Today we welcomed back the first group of Transition Year Coláiste Eoin students, and just in time to cut the meadow. The weather was fantastic and students got to try out the traditional way of cutting a meadow using a scythe and turning the cuttings shaking out any seeds.

The students got busy doing a bit of maintenance pruning some lemon balm that had gone a bit crazy and gave the lavender a little hair cut but not to much.
