Reminder our bus won’t be able to collect our Tallow members tomorrow due to the Horse Fair 🐎

Tallow Horse Fair is taking place this Thursday 3rd September.
Tallow will be closed to traffic from 8am to 8pm approximately, there are road diversion signs in place so please follow them.
An issue of note, due to unforeseen circumstances there will be no parking available in the fields at Townspark East this year so we are asking people
• Come early
• Not to park illegally
• And carpool if possible.

Santa at the Strand will take place from November 26th to 29th 2026! We are beyond excited!!
Bookings open on Friday 11th September and prices will be unchanged from 2025 🙌

Only 3️⃣ cakes served up on Tuesday as we celebrated 3️⃣ birthdays 🥰🎉🧁
A huge week with the announcement of our meals & wheels service 🙌🏻👏 MOW is definitely a much needed service as the phone has been hopping. Please bare with us while we get organised and set up! 😆 Thanks to those of you who have called in about volunteering we really do have the best community! 🚙🚶🍝🍛🍲 Anyone else interested in volunteering give me a ring on (058) 52018

Our centre service days (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) are almost full with just spots available on Thursdays! If your interested or know someone who is let us know as we will be starting a waiting list in the coming weeks by the look of things!

Friday is our Alzhiemers day and now adding MOW too the mix!

New Meals on Wheels Service to launch in Cappoquin!

A new Meals on Wheels service funded by the HSE will launch in Cappoquin this October. The service will be based in Cappoquin Day Centre and will initially deliver 40 nutritious and healthy meals a day. Meals will be priced at just €10 each (including a main course and dessert).

A need for the service was identified with the HSE over the last 12 months, with the two closest Meals on Wheels services being based in Dungarvan and Fermoy; almost 50km apart in distance.

Now we have our own service in Cappoquin!

Pictured outside Cappoquin Health Centre this week were some of those involved in the set up of the service including Bridget Lombard (Manager of Cappoquin Day Centre), Gráinne Moynihan (Treasurer, Cappoquin Community Development), Dr Casey (Cappoquin Health Centre) and Marcella Scanlan (Public Health Nurse).

“Good nutrition is key for physical and mental health, so I have no doubt this initiative will lead to more people living at home independently for longer” said Dr Casey. “I would encourage anyone interested to make contact with the Day Centre, whether is for yourself, an older relative or a neighbour.”

In order to get funding for the service, Gráinne Moynihan of the Cappoquin Community Development team, together with Bridget Lombard and Dr Ben Murphy of the Cappoquin Day Centre, collaborated to prepare a business plan for the HSE to describe why the service is needed and also how it could be delivered.

If you are interested in this fantastic new service for yourself or for a loved one, please contact Cappoquin Day Centre on 058 52018 between 9am to 5pm. The team there would be delighted to speak with you about your circumstances and how the service could help you.

Dr Casey and the team in the Health Centre will also have Referral Forms and these will be passed to the Day Centre once completed.

Cappoquin Day Centre and our Dementia Specific Day is now closed for two weeks - until Tuesday August the 18th 💙💙 💜💜
It has been an incredibly busy year and it’s about to get even busier!!!
