What an absolutely incredible morning for Cappamore’s very first Darkness Into Light 💛✨

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to every single person who played a part in making this event so special and so successful.

To our amazing committee, who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes over the last 5/6 months — your dedication, commitment and hard work made this possible. So much time, effort and heart went into organising this event and we are beyond grateful to each and every one of you.

A huge thank you to the wonderful Pallasgreen crew for all your guidance, support and encouragement along the way. Passing over the baton to us and helping us throughout the process meant more than you know.

To all our volunteers who helped on the night and early this morning — thank you for giving your time, your energy and your kindness. Events like this simply could not happen without community spirit like yours.

To everybody who donated, sponsored, supported, shared posts, spread the word and encouraged others to come along — thank you. Every contribution, big or small, made a difference.

A very special thank you to Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, for taking the time to join us this morning and support such a meaningful event for our community. And a huge thank you to Martin Ryan T for helping make this happen and for getting him there for us — it was greatly appreciated.

A massive thank you also to Lehinan’s Local Centra for generously supplying the teas and coffees this morning, it was so appreciated by everyone after the walk. And thank you to everyone who baked and donated delicious homemade treats and goodies — your kindness and generosity added so much to the morning.

A special thank you as well to the Hynan’s Irish Dancers for the wonderful entertainment this morning. Your performance brought such joy and atmosphere to the event and was enjoyed by everyone there 💚

And finally, to every single person who got up before dawn and took part this morning… thank you. Whether you came with family, friends, neighbours or walked quietly on your own, you showed up. Even if you didn’t feel like getting out of bed this morning, be proud of yourself that you did it 💛

The atmosphere, the support, the sense of togetherness and community was something truly special and one we will never forget.

A very special thank you also to the Irish Red Cross and the Fire Service for being there this morning and helping ensure everybody stayed safe throughout the event.

Today showed exactly what community is all about. Cappamore, you should all be incredibly proud 💛✨

⏳ Less than 24 hours to go until we walk together for Pieta’s Darkness Into Light. 💛
Tomorrow morning, thousands of people across Ireland and beyond will come together to remember loved ones, support those struggling, and shine a light on hope and mental health awareness.
If you see someone walking alone, walk beside them.
A smile, a hello, or a simple conversation can mean more than you know.
Wishing everyone taking part a safe and meaningful walk. 🌅✨

Darkness Into Light Cappamore is nearly upon us… only 2 more sleeps left 🌅💛

Yes, we know it’s also First Holy Communion morning… but hear us out 😅

Instead of lying awake at 4am worrying about the child’s outfit, the weather, the photos, the shoes, the cake, and whether Uncle Mike will arrive late again… you may as well get up and do the walk 😂🚶‍♀️

Sure by 6am you’ll have the steps done, the head cleared, and you’ll be halfway through your third coffee before the Communion chaos even begins ☕🤣

And let’s be honest… the child will probably still spill something on themselves before Mass no matter what you do 😭

No pressure if you can’t make the walk on the morning — we know it’s a busy day for many families 💛 But if you’d still like to support a very worthy cause, you can still register or donate.

⚠️⚠️ Road Closure Notice ⚠️⚠️

▪️R505 – Cappamore to Doon Road (from its junction with the L1134 at Cross of the Bog to its junction with the L5024 in Cappamore) on Saturday 9th May 2026 between 04:00 am – 05:30 am

▪️Limerick City and County Council wish to advise motorists and road users that a temporary road closure will be in place on the R505 – Cappamore to Doon Road on Saturday 9th May 2026 between 04:00 am – 05:30 am.

▪️The road closure is required to facilitate the Pieta Darkness Into Light 2026 Walk, which will be held in Cappamore village. The walk will commence at 4:15 am and consists of a 5km walking route, with up to two hours allowed for participants to complete the event safely.

✨ What a night! ✨

A huge thank you to the wonderful Jane Wolff for leading such a special yoga session in support of the Darkness Into Light walk this coming Saturday. It was an incredible evening — we even had a few people nearly levitating out of the place! 🧘‍♀️💫

We’re so grateful to everyone who came along and gave so generously. Your support truly means a lot. And a heartfelt thank you to Jane for the kindness, time, and talent she so generously shared with us.
