📚 2026 CAPPAMORE YEAR BOOK – SUBMISSIONS REMINDER 📚

The deadline for submitting articles for the 2026 Cappamore Year Book is Thursday, 1 October.

We would be delighted to receive local stories, memories, photographs, historical pieces and updates from community groups, clubs and organisations.

Submission guidelines:

📝 Articles should be no more than 1,500 words
📷 A maximum of three photographs may be included
⌨️ Articles should preferably be typed in 12-point Times New Roman
📧 Email submissions to [email protected]

🎄✨ Cappamore Christmas Lights 2026 – We Need Your Ideas! ✨🎄

Christmas might still feel a little way off, but now is the time to start planning how Cappamore will look this festive season! 🎅🎄

We’re putting together a Christmas Lights Working Group and holding our first meeting:

📅 Friday, 4th September
🕖 7:00pm
📍 Cappamore Community Centre

If you have an opinion on how the village lights should look this Christmas, an idea you think would work brilliantly, or something new you’d love to see, now is the time to have your say.

And even better — if you can help us turn some of those ideas into reality, we’d really love to have you involved. 🙌

This is about bringing people together and making Cappamore look as welcoming and festive as possible this Christmas.

The team last year did outstanding work in a short amount of time, and blew us away, Santa was so impressed on his visit last year.

You don’t need to be an expert in Christmas lights — just bring your ideas, enthusiasm and, if you can, a willingness to lend a hand.

🚧 Moore Street Road Works – Starting Monday 🚧

Thanks to Councillor Martin Ryan for the update that the long-awaited works on Moore Street are due to begin this Monday.

This is a substantial job and one that has been needed for a long time, so it is very welcome to see it finally moving ahead.

There will obviously be some disruption and inconvenience while the works are ongoing over the next few weeks, particularly for residents, businesses and anyone travelling through the area, but given the current condition of the road this is a much-needed upgrade.

We’ll keep people updated as the works progress and share any information on traffic arrangements or access as it becomes available.

Great to see this one finally getting underway.
