A founding member of Cahersiveen Chamber Alliance June was an extraordinary woman, a true powerhouse whose passion, dedication and unwavering love for Cahersiveen knew no bounds. She believed wholeheartedly in our town, its people and its future. No challenge was ever too great, and no project was ever impossible in June's eyes. She had an incredible ability to inspire those around her, making people believe in themselves, giving them the confidence to get involved, and reminding us all that by working together, we could achieve anything.
June's love of the Irish language was evident in everything she did. There was hardly a text or email from her that didn't include a cúpla focal. Words like muinín and tionóil became part of our everyday conversations because of June. She was passionate about keeping our language alive and reminding us that it is an important part of who we are.
She was also deeply passionate about the history of Cahersiveen and preserving everything that makes our town so special. The contribution June made to Cahersiveen is immeasurable. She worked tirelessly, often behind the scenes, and her impact on our community is far greater than many will ever realise. She had a remarkable gift for bringing people together, making everyone feel valued and reminding us that this is our town, and it is all of our responsibility to help it thrive.
As Cahersiveen enters what promises to be an exciting new chapter, with the Town Regeneration Plan and the South Kerry Greenway creating new opportunities for our community, we are determined to continue the work that June cared so deeply about. We will honour her legacy by carrying forward her vision, her positivity and her belief in what Cahersiveen can become.
Our sincere and heartfelt sympathies go to her beloved husband Pat, her children Seán, Sadhbh, Liam and Cathal, her parents Haulie and Noreen, her sisters Michelle, Sharon and Lorraine, her brothers Cathal and Michael, her extended family, her many friends, and her colleagues at Skellig Six18.
That work will continue, always with Muinín
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
