*🌊 Biodiversity Surveys 🦀*
To all nature enthusiasts:
This is our updated schedule for this year's shoreline biodiversity surveys training, supported by the LEADER Programme. Come along and join us as we discover and record all the creatures hidden under the seaweed! Train your species knowledge and become a citizen scientist!
The next survey will be on Monday, *June 15th* from 10am to 12pm.
It's a free event, but please register if you are planning to join, so we know how many people to expect.

This World Ocean Day, protect what gives us hope.

At the Greater Skellig Coast Hope Spot, we are working to celebrate and safeguard one of Ireland's most remarkable marine ecosystems — from thriving seabird colonies and kelp forests to whales, dolphins, sharks, rays and countless other species that call these waters home.

The Greater Skellig Coast Hope Spot was championed through the collaborative efforts of Fair Seas , us and many local communities and organisations working together to build awareness and support for stronger ocean protection.

Today, we're joining in celebrating the launch of their new website — a new digital home where you can explore Hope Spots around the world, discover pathways to protection, and learn how to get involved.

*Friday, 2:30 - 4:30 pm and *Saturday 2 - 4 pm: Marine Creature Feature Stall.
Learn all about the incredible marine wildlife at our stall! Our team of biologist will show you our incredible collection of skulls and boans of Ireland's marine mammals and birds.

* Sunday, 2 - 4 pm: Seashore Safari.
Let's go treasure hunt and rock pool on Derrynane Beach! We will find incredible things, you may have never heard of!

Bring your rain gear with you, since it will most likely rain ☔ , but hay, this is Ireland, so the sun will show itselff as wll ☀

🏆🌊 We're delighted to share some exciting news! 🌊🏆

Sea Synergy has been awarded the ASI Accredited School Excellence Award 2026 – Silver Level for our Stand Up Paddle School, recognising our continued commitment to high standards in training, safety, and operations. 🎉

This award celebrates schools that have maintained their ASI accreditation over many years, and we are proud to have been an ASI Accredited School since 2018.

A huge thank you to our fantastic instructors, staff, volunteers, and participants who have supported us on this journey. Your enthusiasm and dedication help make Sea Synergy a place where people can safely connect with the ocean, learn new skills, and develop a deeper appreciation for our marine environment.

We look forward to continuing to provide high-quality paddle sports experiences and marine education for our community and visitors alike.

Jane our Explorers Education Programme Education officer was delighted to welcome 6th classes from CBS Primary Tralee on 30th April 2026 to Fenit for a Sea Safari.
The weather may have been a little grey, but it certainly didn’t stop the fun. From rockpool exploring to seaside discoveries, the children embraced every minute of the day with huge enthusiasm, curiosity, and energy. There was plenty of laughter, learning, and outdoor adventure as everyone explored the shore together.

It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of the school year, getting outdoors, making memories, and enjoying hands on learning in such a beautiful setting.

The Explorers Education Programme is fully funded by the Marine Institute - Foras na Mara , get in touch to book your school next year.
