Donaghpatrick Kilcoona Pictures of the Past

Donaghpatrick Kilcoona Pictures of the Past A community project spearheaded by the Donaghpatrick Kilcoona Heritage Society. We welcome photos of both people and places.

A place for people to share their past photographs and memories of Caherlistrane and Kilcoona. We are looking for digital copies - so a scanned photo or a picture of the original using a smartphone or camera would be great. Names, dates and townland would also be handy, but if you don't know still feel free to send them in. If you have something you would like to share please email us at [email protected]

Many thanks to Marie O'Malley for sending in this wonderful snippet - minutes from 1873 regarding the proposed construction of the Caherlistrane Church.

We had hoped to hunt out some old photos of the church to share along with it but have not managed to get our hands on any. Do you have some old photos of the church you would like to share? We would love to see them!

Please send them in to [email protected] or DM the page! Anything from the 90s back would be fantastic - get digging ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ˜‰

Got some old photos you would like to share?

This page is a community project spearheaded by the Donaghpatrick Kilcoona Heritage Society. A place for people to share their past photographs and memories of Caherlistrane and Kilcoona.

If you have a photograph that you would like to share please send it to Claire at [email protected] or private message this page.

We are looking for digital copies - so a scanned photo or a 'picture of a picture' would be great (all the pictures up so far are of an original taken with a smartphone or camera). We are looking for photos of both people and places from roughly the 80s back. Names, dates and townland would also be handy, but if you don't know still feel free to send them in ๐Ÿ™‚

A big thank you to Joseph McGinley for sending on these wonderful pictures of Michael Fitzgerald's cottage from the 1925 book 'Ireland Beautiful' recently rescued from a skip in Galway.

The Fitzgerald family had a butcher in Headford and many may remember their stall outside the church in Caherlistrane selling victuals to the locals each Sunday.

A wonderful photo for you all today, unearthed by Tom Cradock down in 'the old house' in Ballycasey, of what we think is the Caherlistrane GAA champion team of 1924? Can anyone can fill us in on more details or names??
