A Reflection on this day last week

This time last week, a number of our volunteers travelled to Dublin to celebrate their long service awards.

It was a special occasion recognising their continued dedication, commitment, and the incredible service they have given over many years to the RNLI.

Over the weekend, more than 6,970 years of service were celebrated across the island of Ireland. The Bundoran volunteers recognised on the day contributed nearly 300 of those years between just six people.

A well-deserved congratulations to all involved for everything you have done for the station and the local community.

Thanks to Paddy Browne (Brownes Photography) for the photos.

Our station has had a busy few weeks, responding to call-outs and conducting crew assessments while also keeping up with ongoing training afloat.

Ongoing casualty care training is also a core focus of crew preparation, and recently our volunteer crew took part in a number of casualty care scenario exercises โ€” including a joint training session with colleagues from Donegal Bay Community First Responders .
Great teamwork and continued dedication from everyone involved! ๐Ÿ‘

Volunteer Spotlight โญ

Meet Owen, better known to everyone as Murph.

Last month, we were congratulating him and the wonderful Leona on their wedding. Even with all the wedding preparations, Murph still found time to volunteer every week.

Now, we're celebrating another achievement as he passes his Tier 2 assessment. A huge congratulations, Murph, and thank you for everything you do! ๐Ÿ‘

We've had a very busy few weeks at the station, but it's all part of what our volunteers do.

This week, we want to celebrate the achievements that happen behind the scenes when no one is watching. The RNLI is powered by volunteers, with 97% of our frontline lifesavers giving their time, support, and energy to help keep people safe.

As the RNLI says:

**LIFESAVERS AREN'T READY MADE. THEY'RE MADE READY.**

This weekend, six volunteers from RNLI Bundoran Lifeboat Station will be recognised at the Royal National Lifeboat Institution Long Service Awards in Dublin. Those being celebrated are Daimon Fergus, Cormac Mc Gurren, Shane Oโ€™Neill, Cpt Hugh Anthony (Tony) McGowan, Hugh John Patton, and Patsy Fowley. Collectively, they represent nearly 250 years of dedicated volunteer service with the RNLI.

Your station, fellow crew members, and community are incredibly proud of you. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›
