On a final note about yesterday's historic visit of the Nieuw Statendam, it was great to see local businesses take advantage of this business opportunity, including Elsie Tweeds with a lovely selection of fabrics, Tara and Emma with their coffee trailer, as well as Kevin from Cavanaghs Bar who took passengers around Inishowen before returning to their lovely pub in Greencastle. We also had Tatter Jack Tours providing some great music. The final photo is a nice image kindly taken by Tony Carlin of Niall and Amanda from our team on the ship presenting the Captain Noel O'Driscoll with a framed print of Inishowen

We were delighted yet again to welcome another cruise ship today, this time the largest ship ever to come into Lough Foyle, the gargantuan Nieuw Statendam.
We were also again invited to set up an information desk on board the ship, and for several hours were able to encourage the many passengers on board to go for a dander in our wonderful Inishowen๐Ÿ˜Š The captain of this glorious cruise liner was a fellow Irishman from Cork, a Noel O' Driscoll ๐Ÿ˜Š

Itโ€™s a lively, social bar in the heart of town โ€” known for its fun atmosphere, cocktails, parties, and that easy-going weekend energy that makes it a go-to spot for a night out.

Thereโ€™s ๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ณ ๐ง๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ฌ, ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐œ, ๐Ž๐“๐ ๐š๐ซ๐ž๐š, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐š ๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ญ ๐›๐ฎ๐ณ๐ณ that builds as the night goes on. Thereโ€™s also a Golf Wall of Fame in the bar, a growing collection of memorabilia added to over the years by locals and visitors โ€” including a Shane Lowry divot from the 18th at the British Open in Portrush.

Itโ€™s easy to call in for โ€œoneโ€ and end up staying for the night.

A first for Go Visit Inishowen, Donegal , as we were invited onboard the luxury cruise liner Marina this morning at Greencastle, to set up a Inishowen visitor information desk on the ship for several hours.
We were genuinely surprised in relation to the large number of guests who were asking about Inishowen; our new Visitor Map Guide proved very popular with them.
As well as sending lots of people across to Greencastle, delighted to report that many guests who may not of planned to go off the liner, did so, taking a walk around Greencastle, visiting the Inishowen Maritime Museum and visiting the local shop and cafe in the village. Even better, guests were being bussed to the wonderful Doagh Famine Village where no doubt a warm Inishowen welcome awaited.๐Ÿ˜Š
Early tomorrow morning we are back at Greencastle again to meet another group of guests.
