From June 15th to 21st, 2026, the Wicklow Integration Team will join communities across Ireland and around the world to celebrate, Refugee Week, an annual celebration of the strength, resilience and contributions of refugees and people seeking protection.

This year's theme is "Courage".

In Ireland, courage can involve navigating unfamiliar systems, learning new languages and building lives in new countries. It is also shown through acts of support from volunteers, sports clubs, and communities advocating for fairness and inclusion.
Refugee Week Ireland honours these everyday acts of courage through shared food, music, stories, and conversations, highlighting both the bravery of seeking safety and the kindness of welcoming others.

Refugee Week Ireland celebrates these everyday acts of courage by individuals, families, and communities across the country. Through sharing food, music, stories, conversation and learning, it highlights both the courage it takes to seek safety and the courage it takes to be welcoming.
