When you truly understand how delicate life can be, it becomes easier to cherish each moment of every day. The awareness of life’s fragility invites you to look around and see the beauty in simple things, like a warm cup of tea or a blooming flower.
Instead of feeling bored, an amazing world filled with new experiences unfolds before you. You begin to notice the laughter of friends, the sounds of nature, and the thrill of learning something new.
As you start to deeply appreciate your time, it becomes clear that spending it on activities that don't fit who you are feels wasteful.
You seek out experiences that feed your spirit and bring joy to your heart. This new approach to life encourages you to make choices that uplift you and to surround yourself with people who inspire you, making each day a vibrant celebration of existence.

Given thanks to the individuals who step in, offering a hand, a listening ear, or a simple act of kindness, even if they can't stay for the long haul. A beautiful post 🎄

Life has a funny way of showing us who truly cares.
It's not always the people we expect, the ones closest to us, who rush to our side when things get tough. Instead, it's often those unexpected souls, the ones who notice our quiet cries for help, the earth angels who see beyond our smiles.
These are the individuals who step in, offering a hand, a listening ear, or a simple act of kindness, even if they can't stay for the long haul.
Their selfless actions, performed without expecting anything in return, are a beacon of hope in our darkest moments. We might not understand why they appeared, or why they couldn't stay, but the impact they leave is undeniable.
For these moments of grace, these unexpected rescues, we remain forever grateful, cherishing the memory of those who showed up when we needed them most ..

Had I not been awake I would have missed it,
A wind that rose and whirled until the roof
Pattered with quick leaves off the sycamore

And got me up, the whole of me a-patter,
Alive and ticking like an electric fence:
Had I not been awake I would have missed it

It came and went too unexpectedly
And almost it seemed dangerously,
Hurtling like an animal at the house,

A courier blast that there and then
Lapsed ordinary. But not ever
After. And not now.

Seamus Heaney

Life is passing rapidly.
Fiercely commit to every moment you find beautiful and remember it.
Record it.
Fully, whole-heartedly inhabit it .
Awareness is one of the greatest things you can possess in this life ...

Is it a kind of a dream? Happy 83rd Birthday to Art Garfunkel.

Art Garfunkel, celebrated for his angelic tenor voice and poetic sensitivity, turns 83 today! As half of the iconic duo Simon & Garfunkel, Art helped shape the sound of the 1960s and 70s with unforgettable hits like "The Sound of Silence," "Bridge Over Troubled Water," and "Mrs. Robinson." Known for his impeccable harmonies and emotive delivery, Garfunkel’s voice has touched generations, bringing depth to the pair’s reflective lyrics.
After Simon & Garfunkel split, Art enjoyed a successful solo career with songs like "All I Know" and ventured into acting, appearing in films such as *Carnal Knowledge*. His passion for literature, his academic pursuits, and his lifelong friendship with Paul Simon have also defined him beyond his music. Celebrating his 83rd birthday, Garfunkel’s contributions to music and culture remain timeless, making him a true legend of his generation.😍🤩

One month before her 95th birthday, Patricia Routledge wrote something that still gently echoes:*
**“I’ll be turning 95 this coming Monday. In my younger years, I was often filled with worry — worry that I wasn’t quite good enough, that no one would cast me again, that I wouldn’t live up to my mother’s hopes. But these days begin in peace, and end in gratitude.”**
My life didn’t quite take shape until my forties. I had worked steadily — on provincial stages, in radio plays, in West End productions — but I often felt adrift, as though I was searching for a home within myself that I hadn’t quite found.
At 50, I accepted a television role that many would later associate me with — Hyacinth Bucket, of Keeping Up Appearances. I thought it would be a small part in a little series. I never imagined that it would take me into people’s living rooms and hearts around the world. And truthfully, that role taught me to accept my own quirks. It healed something in me.
At 60, I began learning Italian — not for work, but so I could sing opera in its native language. I also learned how to live alone without feeling lonely. I read poetry aloud each evening, not to perfect my diction, but to quiet my soul.
At 70, I returned to the Shakespearean stage — something I once believed I had aged out of. But this time, I had nothing to prove. I stood on those boards with stillness, and audiences felt that. I was no longer performing. I was simply being.
At 80, I took up watercolor painting. I painted flowers from my garden, old hats from my youth, and faces I remembered from the London Underground. Each painting was a quiet memory made visible.
Now, at 95, I write letters by hand. I’m learning to bake rye bread. I still breathe deeply every morning. I still adore laughter — though I no longer try to make anyone laugh. I love the quiet more than ever.
**I’m writing this to tell you something simple:**
**Growing older is not the closing act. It can be the most exquisite chapter — if you let yourself bloom again.**
Let these years ahead be your *treasure years*.
You don’t need to be famous. You don’t need to be flawless.
You only need to show up — fully — for the life that is still yours.
*With love and gentleness,*
— Patricia Routledge
