We had a highly productive county planning and skills day today. Sections got together to discuss and plan some events for the coming scout year. Our calendar will shortly follow.
Then we had some games and our reps and leaders facilitated some skills bases consisting of emergencies, hillwalking, pioneering and back woods. It was a great day for the county

What an end to the busy summer - 2 groups attended Venture Scouts Venture Sword last weekend. Both Groups taking home Silver!! Well done to Mullingar Scouts - 1st/10th WH and Moore Scouts who put in serious efforts.

Thank you to the scouters who once again gave up their time to enable these young people. Jodie and John cooked up a storm all weekend, Jodie assessed bases and logbooks and Deirdre assessed Campcraft and cleanups.

The Phoenix Challenge 2026

A huge congratulations to both patrols from
1/10 WH Mullingar and 9th WH Milltownpass
on achieving Silver Standards at Castle Saunderson on Sunday.

A fantastic achievement for you all. Your hard work, teamwork, determination shun through.

We were delighted to present each Patrol with the county necker as a token of our respect and appreciation for representing your county with such scouting spirit.

What an incredible achievement! Covering 100km, completing projects along the way, and doing it all on a limited budget is no small feat. Your resilience, teamwork, determination and sense of adventure truly embody the spirit of Scouting. ⚜️💚

Lakelands is definitely venture central tonight... We have reports of teams in Dysart, Mullingar and Tyrrellspass...

Some are at scouter houses tonight , having come into Mullingar and meeting people in scouting, so thank you very much to our amazing community.

They all seem in great spirits. Full of chat and fun!

Keep going lads 2 day in of 5 and up to 40/45 km done ... They are almost half way!

We love the hospitality of our groups. Teams efforts in Killucan and 3rd Westmeath Delvin Scouts who are supporting some tired walkers of Venture Challenge !

Well done Conor, he has safely made it to base camp ..200km across Europe for explorer belt! Bravo!!
