The biggest of Congratulations to our intrepid U16 team. After two excellent days of competition and with the third day cancelled due to a severe weather warning in the area the team has secured Silver. As can often happen the practice day didn't go well but the team and management regrouped, analysed and altered the strategy. The team of Luke Kinsella , Sean Kinsella , Sean Keane, Alex Murphy, Philip Kennedy Ryan and Daniel Gricius lead by Liam Fraher and Barry Murphy absolutely smashed it. The team worked tremendously hard and now they have reaped their reward. A special mention goes to Daniel Gricus on his incredible 4th placed finish as an individual.

Unfortunately, our u21 team of Max Roche Mochara Fraher Cormac O'Connor Cody Aylward Danny Harty and Billy Gilvarry didn't get the rub of the green on this occasion but the lads are top anglers and it certainly isn't the last we will hear of them on the World Championships stage.

Looking forward to the awards now 😀 enjoy it lads ❤️

Do you know what is a beautiful Italian word.... Argento!! Kind of rolls off the tongue and sits beautifully around the neck!

Today is day 1 of the official match days out in 🇮🇹 At this point now all the practising that can be done has been and the final preparations and box packing are underway. The lads have put tremendous work in over the year and the Irish Federation of Sea Anglers is very proud to be represented by such a hard working group of young men. We are certain that our u16 and u21 anglers will give it their absolutely best shot and not give up until the final ho**er goes. No matter how the fishing goes all true anglers and athletes know just how much work has gone into even getting to the championships.

Jim, Ryan, Barry and Liam have the teams and tactics picked by now and all thats left is to do what the lads do best and get them fish in the bucket!

Tight lines lads 🐟

Fishing Evolution Italy is always a good channel to keep an tabs on when World Championships time rolls around. Keep an eye out for live streams of the action.

It would be easy to mistake the lads for a senior team but the u21s are fishing hard over in Italy 🇮🇹

Under the guidance of Jim and Ryan practice has gone well and the real test begins now. The world championships is always a game of fine margins so hopefully the luck falls our way this time out.

Best of luck lads
