Tonight our Scouts & Ventures put their pioneering skills to the test building rope ladders 🪢
Some ladders were solid. Some… had personality 😅

Shout out to our Rover Liam for leading the meeting and sharing his knowledge.

We were so proud to see our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts officially invested and presented with the badges they’ve worked so hard to earn throughout 2025. Every badge tells a story of effort, teamwork, new skills and plenty of fun along the way.

A huge congratulations to our Cubs and scouts who received the Chief Scout Award. This is the highest award in the section and recognises a Child who has shown real commitment, com pleted a wide range of challenge badges and consistently lived the Scout Promise and Law. It’s a fantastic achievement and one that takes dedication over a long period of time.

Our Ventures were presented with a very special Peace Project Badge in recognition of their recent fundraising efforts for UNICEF’s Gaza Appeal. We are incredibly proud of the compassion, leadership and global awareness they’ve shown through this work.

The evening was also a chance to celebrate the people who make our group what it is. We marked a special birthday, a well-earned retirement, and took time to recognise some truly wonderful volunteers and supporters who give so much to our Scouts throughout the year. We simply couldn’t do it without you!

Well done to every young person who stood up to be invested, accepted a badge, or supported their fellow Scouts. Nights like this remind us what Scouting is all about: community, growth and a lot of heart 💙

Our Annual Gift Giving Ceremony brought Scout Groups from across Cork South County together in Mahon Community Centre, united by generosity, community spirit, and the true values of Scouting.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our young people, leaders and families, a wonderful collection of gifts was gathered for Edel House, Penny Dinners, and St Vincent de Paul. These gifts will go a long way in bringing comfort, dignity, and a little extra warmth to those who need it most this Christmas.

This ceremony is a reminder of what Scouting is all about, kindness, service, and looking out for our community. We are so proud to be part of a tradition that continues to teach empathy, generosity, and giving back year after year.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed, organised, attended, and supported the evening. Together, you made a real difference ❤️

Our Ventures got into the festive spirit this evening with a trip to the Alpine Skate Trail for our Christmas party! ⛸️✨

There were a few wobbles along the way but we're happy to report all Ventures remain fully intact and the leaders managed to survive the arctic conditions on the sidelines… just about. ❄️😄
