Period Poverty Campaign 2026
Serve the City was delighted to partner with UPS again this year to support their Period Poverty Campaign. Period poverty occurs when someone can't afford or access suitable period products. UPS wanted to help those in this situation and raise awareness of period poverty in Ireland.
UPS staff generously donated a variety of period products to those most in need. This year, the donations will be distributed through The Light House Dublin Cafe.
This collaboration is a wonderful example of how organisations can come together to make a positive impact on people's lives. Serve the City is proud to support this campaign together with UPS.

Serve the City Dublin recently celebrated the retirement of a long-serving volunteer from our Meals on Wheels programme. Piers has spent many years delivering hot meals to elderly and vulnerable members of the community. While he is far too modest to disclose his exact age, he did admit to being somewhere around nonagenarian status. Throughout his time with us, Piers has been an outstanding volunteer, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those he served. We are deeply grateful for his dedication and many years of service.

During the Covid pandemic, Serve the City Dublin temporarily took over the running of a Meals on Wheels service in the Glenageary–Ballybrack area. More than six years later, the service continues to be operated by Serve the City and is coordinated by volunteer Martha McDonnell. Although it is one of our less high-profile initiatives, it remains a vital service, providing daily hot meals to clients who depend on its support.

We would like to say a massive thanks to the volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to tackle a challenging dehording Serve Day in Tallaght on Saturday. Your support is very much appreciated!

Can you donate towards Serve the City's work? Our DIY programme supports vulnerable individuals in their homes by providing practical assistance by way of dehording, gardening, and painting. Your donation will go toward essential items such as skip hire for waste management, cleaning materials, and protective clothing.
