From Meath Coast CFR πŸ’š

With temperatures rising across the country, please take a few moments to look after yourself, your family, and vulnerable neighbours during the warm weather β˜€οΈ

πŸ”₯ Hot weather can quickly lead to:
πŸ’§ Dehydration
πŸ₯΅ Heat exhaustion
πŸš‘ Medical emergencies β€” especially in young children, older persons, and those with underlying health conditions.

βœ… TOP TIPS TO STAY SAFE:
πŸ’¦ Drink water regularly throughout the day

🚫 Avoid too much alcohol in the heat
πŸš— Never leave children or pets in vehicles β€” even for a few minutes

🌊 WATER SAFETY
As many people head to the beach during the good weather, please stay alert around the water:

πŸ–οΈ Swim in lifeguarded areas where possible
πŸ‘€ Always supervise children near water
🌊 Be aware of strong tides & currents
πŸ›Ÿ Avoid using inflatables in open water
πŸ“± Carry a phone if walking isolated beach areas

⚠️ If someone gets into difficulty in the water:
➑️ Call 999 or 112 immediately and ask for the Coast Guard.

πŸ›Ÿ Remember: FLOAT TO LIVE
If you find yourself struggling in the water:
βœ”οΈ Tilt your head back
βœ”οΈ Relax and float
βœ”οΈ Control your breathing
βœ”οΈ Raise one arm for help

πŸš¨πŸ’šDefibrillator Update – Seafield, Laytown πŸ’šπŸš¨

Meath Coast CFR continues to expand and maintain our network of Public Access Defibrillators across the community, helping ensure every device is ready to be used in an emergency when seconds matter most ⏱️⚑

We recently upgraded the signage at the defibrillator in Seafield, Laytown, beside the Colmcille GAA pitches 🏐

The new signage makes the defibrillator much more visible to the public during an emergency πŸ‘€πŸš¨ and now also includes the nearest Eircode πŸ“, helping emergency services locate the area quickly and accurately during a 999/112 call β˜ŽοΈπŸš‘

πŸŽ₯ The attached video also shows how simple the cabinet is to open β€” just twist πŸ”„

Don’t know your Eircode? Find it here πŸ‘‡
πŸ‘‰ https://finder.eircode.ie/ #/

πŸ‘ A huge thank you to SIGNEX https://www.signex.ie/ for their continued support and assistance with our signage upgrades β€” your help makes a real difference to the community πŸ’š

πŸ—ΊοΈ You can also check out our interactive map showing all local Public Access Defibrillators throughout the community πŸ‘‡
πŸ‘‰ https://www.meathcoastcfr.ie/map

πŸ“ž If this defibrillator is ever used, please contact us via Facebook or on 085 156 5222 so we can ensure the device is checked, restocked, and ready for the next emergency πŸš‘βš‘

Thank you to everyone who continues to support your local CFR group πŸ’šπŸ™Œ

🚨 Meath Coast CFR Needs Your Help! πŸ«΅πŸ’™
We’re working to improve the AED / Public Access Defibrillator network across our community ❀️⚑

πŸ“ We already have an interactive map of defibrillators in: Bettystown, Laytown, Mornington, Donacarney & Julianstown
…but we know there are many more out there πŸ‘€

🏫 Schools
πŸ›’ Shops
🏒 Community centres
πŸ‹οΈ Gyms
➑️ Defibrillators that we (and others) may not know about

πŸš‘ Our goal is to build a complete list of all AEDs in our area and get them registered on the National Ambulance Service (NAS) database.

πŸ’‘ Why this matters: When someone calls 999 / 112 πŸ“ž, they can be directed to the nearest available defibrillatorβ€”potentially saving a life ❀️

πŸ™ So we’re asking: πŸ‘‰ Do you know of a defibrillator in your area?

πŸ‘‰ Is there one in your workplace, school or local facility?

πŸ“© Please get in touch with us or πŸ“ Fill in the form below: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc1gNczZBVGMkmhHZg3YhKTnVBx-isvnSdGBKnSad-lZ7v0FA/viewform

πŸ’š Together, we can make our community safer and more prepared.

Every defibrillator registered could help save a life ⚑❀️

This is a public questionnaire, feedback from you helps us list local defibrillators in our area & then uploading the same information to the National Ambulance Service database. Please note we can only register defibrillators that are in working order & maintained regularly. If you are unsure still...
