Belcarra (Irish: Baile na Cora, meaning "town of the confluence") is a village in County Mayo, Ireland about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) south-east of the county city of Castlebar. It is a growing village and has had many new houses built in its centre over the last few years. There is one general store in the village, two bars and there is a petrol station, hardware store and post office. It has done
well in Tidy Town competitions over the years and has a church (St. Annes) and community centre. The community centre plays host to several very strong clubs including a martial arts club, and a Foroige Club organised for the youths of the village. There are also parent and toddler meetings on week days, and evening music lessons in the centre. A new Sports Centre was official opened in April 2013. It was twinned with Belcarra, British Columbia, Canada in June 2007.
