Yes, we know Himalayan balsam. Volunteers worked to remove HB from Baltinglass. And Baltinglass Tidy Towns has looked for funding to remove more.

Join TIDY TOWNS on Tuesday for Tasks and Tea.
Yes, we have been asking a LOT, and tomorrow we'd like to invite volunteers to sit in the beautiful Ukraininan Hub (after a little bit of work)

After completing our work on Tuesday, we invite everyone to visit the updated summer room near the Ukrainian hub. Tea, coffee and cake will be waiting for committee members and volunteers. ☕️🥧🫖
We will be meeting again on Tuesday evening at 6pm at the lock-up on Main Street.

This week, we ask for you to come and join in to tackle the following tasks:
• Replant one of the library pots and one of the round pots near the McAllister statue.
• Water planters and beds around town
• Prune the evergreen shrubs in the granite planters outside SuperValu, and add compost and fresh bedding.
• Replace the turf border at one of the Credit Union beds.
• Clear grass and w**ds around the traffic hazard bollards on Dublin Road.
• Widen and w**d the bases of the four cherry trees in the berm curves at Clough Cross, then add compost and mulch.

We'd also appreciate your help with litter picks around town, especially at Church Lane and Weir Park, during this hot spell

If anyone is walking through the town park or Weir Park during this hot spell, please consider doing a quick litter pick to help maintain our lovely public spaces which we are so lucky to have.😊

They give great planting advice and share their EXPERTISE.
Also, they kindly donated a compost with SEAWEED that will give the plants a lot of pep in their step.

There are many clever ways to make a beautiful garden with colourful borders. At Baltinglass Tidy Towns we often get compost, loading up beds with carefully chosen flowers and grasses from Rathvilly Garden Centre Carlow. This year these include Nicotiana, grasses, nemesias, nadines and salvias.
Salvia's and Campanula were also donated by Supervalu Gillespie Baltinglass.
A big THANK YOU to all volunteers who helped us plant!
