Last September Valerie Mulvin from McCullough Mulvin Architects visited Mountrath when they met with Jack Carter Historian and members of Mountrath Development Association in relation to an The Housing Unlocked exhibition. They have used Mountrath as a sample town for how to unlock the hidden potential there is within Irish towns to help solve our housing problems. They have taken Mountrath as a typical Irish town, but it could be anywhere.
The Housing Unlocked exhibition is being held at the Science Gallery in Trinity College Dublin. From Friday 14 October under the auspices of the Irish Architecture Foundation, and it runs for 6 weeks: McCullough Mulvin Architects are one of eight exhibitors whose focus is on the Irish town, taking Mountrath as a very good example;
Anyone interested can visit the exhibition where admission is free or view online at https://housingunlocked.ie/exhibition/

Mountrath Development Association have worked with McCullough Mulvin Architects in the past and are delighted to be associated with this project which is completely separate from the Mountrath Town Plan which is nearing completion and will be revealed at a public meeting in the near future.

Housing Unlocked is an exhibition showcasing eight architect-led proposals to unlock housing potential in our villages, towns and cities.
