Celebrating 8 Years of Service to Ballina and Beyond
Ballina Community First Responders are marking 8 incredible years since going live with the National Ambulance Service, eight years of commitment, courage, and community spirit.
In that time, our team has been activated to thousands of emergency calls, often arriving within minutes to support our neighbours in their most critical moments.
Most proudly, we have responded to every single cardiac arrest we were tasked to attend. Every call matters, every second counts, and our volunteers never hesitate.
What makes this group extraordinary is simple:
When the phone rings, they drop everything work, dinner, family time, and rush to your emergency without a second thought. That level of dedication can’t be taught. It comes from heart, from community pride, and from a deep belief in helping others.

To every volunteer past and present: thank you.
To the people of Ballina.ie we’re here because of you.
To the National Ambulance Service (NAS): thank you for trusting us.
Here’s to the next chapter of service, teamwork, and saving lives.

Today we extend congratulations to Paramedic PJ Padden on the occasion of his retirement from the National Ambulance Service (NAS) .
PJ has been a great supporter of Ballina CFR since the very beginning, offering guidance, encouragement, and commitment to our volunteers. His professionalism and dedication have made a meaningful and lasting contribution to both our volunteers and the wider community.
On behalf of Ballina CFR, we wish PJ good health and many happy years of retirement. May this next chapter bring him the fulfilment, rest, and enjoyment he has truly earned.
