VOLUNTEER WITH FAMILY CARERS IRELAND

Family Carers Ireland are looking for volunteers to help with their Church Gate Collection in Ballina on Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th September.

📍 Ballina Cathedral

📅 Saturday 5th September: 6.30pm – 8.00pm
📅 Sunday 6th September: 8.30am – 1.30pm

What will you be doing?
🙋 Welcoming parishioners and members of the local community
💶 Politely inviting people to support Family Carers Ireland with a donation
🪣 Holding collection buckets and approved collection materials
💚 Helping raise awareness of the vital work of Family Carers Ireland and the support they provide to family carers and young carers across Ireland
🙏 Thanking members of the public for their generosity
📋 Following the guidance of Family Carers Ireland and the local collection coordinator

Ballina Darkness Into Light is looking for a few friendly volunteers to help with our bucket collection on Friday, 11th September.

It’s a simple way to get involved, meet people and help raise vital funds for a great local cause. Every donation collected will go directly to the Mayo Outreach Centre in the Family Resource Centre, helping support people in our community.

You don’t need any previous volunteering experience - just bring your time, a smile and a willingness to help!

Do you enjoy having fun, getting creative and working with children? 💜 Then we’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for Volunteer Leaders to join the existing leadership team with our Ladybirds & Brownies Units in Ballina.

🐞 Ladybirds – Girls aged 5–7
📅 Tuesdays, 5.00–6.00pm during term time

🧚‍♀️ Brownies – Girls aged 7–10
📅 Thursdays, 6.30–7.45pm during term time

✨ No previous experience is necessary!
You’ll be joining a supportive team, helping young people learn new skills, have fun, build confidence and make memories.

If you have some time to give and would like to get involved, this could be the perfect volunteer opportunity for you! 💜

Ballina Stephenites are hosting a Colour Run on Sunday, September 13th – a fun-filled day of fitness, laughter, and plenty of colour! This is a family-friendly community event for all ages and abilities.

What if your town could help fund the next breakthrough in cancer research? 🔬🎗️

Around World Cancer Research Day – September 24th, communities across Ireland will come together for Breakthrough Cancer Research’s National Fundraising Collections.

This year, we’re looking for Area Coordinators across Mayo to help bring collections to even more towns and communities. 🙌

Could you help?

As an Area Coordinator, you’ll:
📍 Organise a collection in your local town or shopping centre
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Recruit family and friends to volunteer alongside you
💰 Count and lodge the funds raised – or, if you’d prefer, our team can arrange an alternative

And you won’t be doing it alone! ❤️

Breakthrough Cancer Research will provide:
✅ Support with your Garda collection permit
✅ Buckets, posters, stickers, bibs and charity materials
✅ Guidance and support every step of the way

It’s a simple way to bring people together locally while helping fund life-saving cancer research.
