To round out a busy weekend of activities, our cubs attended the county skills day. They did pioneering, navigating, air skills, fire lighting, and cooking, all while having fun and making friends.

While our MPC team were finishing up in Wicklow, the rest of our scouts were on a “getting to know you hike” in Howth. It was a chance for our new scouts to get to know our older scouts and our older scouts to get to know our new scouter Zoe. What a day they had.

Our new scouts learned all about maps 🗺️ tonight from their PLs and APLs. They learned the basics of what the colours and symbols represent and then they learned about grid references so that they could navigate the dreaded MINEFIELD.

Only a few of them were blown up. 💥 😂

Well done to our amazing MPC team who took on the challenge in the Nephin Mountains of Mayo - the most remote place in the country. They covered steep and boggy ground over 3 days of adventures and made memories to last a lifetime. They are already looking forward to the Leinster instalment next month.

In accordance with section 179 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), Fingal County Council hereby gives notice of the proposed development to be carried out at the following site:

'Proposed conservation refurbishment and sustainable re-use of the existing, historic Bath House and Boathouse, and associated slipways, both identified as a Protected Structure Ref. RPS 0018, located at a 0.07 ha site at King Strand, off Bath Road, Tankardstown, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.'

The plan is on public display from Thursday 17th September until Thursday 15th October.

Huge congratulations to our new Ventures. We’re sad to see them leaving scouts, but excited for their new adventures on Wednesday nights.
