👟 𝗗𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸-𝘁𝗼-𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆?

More than 126,000 families were due to receive an automatic Back-to-School Clothing and Footwear Allowance payment during July.

However, not receiving an automatic payment does not necessarily mean that your family is ineligible.

If you did not receive an award notification through MyWelfare or by post, you may still apply yourself — even if you received the payment automatically in previous years.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁?

💶 €160 for each eligible child aged 2–11

💶 €285 for each eligible child aged 12–22

Young people aged 18–22 must be returning to full-time second-level education in autumn 2026.

This is the first year that eligible children aged two and three are included in the scheme.

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆?

The allowance is means-tested. You must generally:

✅ Receive a qualifying social protection payment or take part in an approved employment, education or training scheme

✅ Receive a Child Support Payment for the child, except in certain circumstances

✅ Be within the household income limits

✅ Live in Ireland with the child being claimed for

📅 Applications close on 30 September 2026.

Aoibhneas will be hosting a coffee morning on Thursday 16th of July in Aster Family Resource Centre, Balbriggan from 10:00 - 11:30am.

This will be a relaxed, friendly and safe space for women in the local area to drop in for a cuppa and a chat. You're very welcome to call in, take a moment for yourself, and connect with others in the community.

It's also a chance to find out more about the supports available around domestic abuse in a supportive and informal setting, whether that's for you or someone you may be concerned about.

No pressure, no booking needed, just come along if and when it suits you. We'd be really glad to see you there.
