Youth Work Ireland Midlands Delivering quality youth services to young people throughout counties Roscommon, Offaly & Westmeath.

Youth Work Ireland Midlands was established in the 1960's and formally incorporated in 1998, to respond to youth needs in the counties of Offaly and Westmeath and developed from voluntary input and training programmes into youth clubs throughout the counties to a professional, integrated youth service aiming to involve all young people. We achieve this by:

• Assisting and supporting young people

find and use their own resources responsibly.
• By supporting and challenging young people in transition.
• By providing young people with the opportunities to participate in programmes and enhance self-development.
• By encouraging and empowering young people to be the authors of their own activities in collaboration with Midlands Regional Youth Service Ltd staff and volunteers
• By providing young people with the information necessary to make informed choices and to participate fully in society.

Athlone Youth Project are seeking youth work assistants in our community employment scheme - working 19.5 hours per week with paid training courses and a great work environment- now is a great time to get involved- Summer programmes. We will be out around the wider Athlone Community working with young people from Willow Park, Brawny, Woodlands and Battery Heights

If you are in receipt of a social welfare payment then you could be eligible- you get a top up to your payment and a chance to work locally in your community with young people aged 10-24

We’re looking for 3 youth work assistants in Mullingar and 2 in Athlone on our Community Employment Program

Contact us if you’ve been out of work for 12 months or more and in receipt of a Social Welfare payment - and we’ll help you apply!

19.5 hours per week
QQI and other training provided

You can expect a fun working environment with lots of opportunities for training, skills development and using your own skills and talents.

Busy day in the Midlands! We were delighted to be joined by Patrick Burke, CEO of and Catherine Durkin, Chairperson to discuss the campaign and have our input. Joined by staff, volunteers and young people from athlone, Board members and Mollie from the National Youth Action Group of Youth Work Ireland - we made our own thoughts and opinions known about the importance of this campaign and where it could be best served for highest impact for all young people. Then we picked up the recent campaign again with a session on Erasmus, and our own Solidarity Academy through with the crew. Busy but brilliant day.
