Staying Safe this Halloween : Tips for a safe & fun Halloween. 🎃
Bonfires & Fireworks
They are Illegal but they continue to happen. Do not get to close to fire, if you can feel the heat you are too close.
Grass burned by bonfires will contain sharp & nasty debris for younger children or animals to injure themselves on.
The grass will take over a year to recover.
Dressing up
Some costumes are clasiffied as “Toys” & are not required to meet the same fire safety standards as clothes.
Keep costumes away from naked flames.
Hairspray is extremely flamable.
Decorations
if using candles, use battery operated lights. Real candles are dangerous - especially when left unattended.
Keep decorations away from heat sources & naked flames.
Animals
Animals can become extremly distressed with loud noises. Keep them inside this Halloween as they may try to run away.
Plan Ahead
Make sure your phone is fully charged before heading out.
Let someone know your plans if you’re attending an event or trick-or-treating.
Arrange a meeting point in advance in case you get separated from your group.
Traffic
Always use designated pedestrian crossings where available.
Stay alert and be aware of traffic, especially after dark.
Avoid distractions and keep your attention on the road when crossing. Wear bright or reflective clothing to help drivers see you.
Happy Halloween! stay safe & have fun🎃🎃
