Tiglin, a nonprofit in Ireland, is dedicated to breaking the cycles of homelessness and addiction, helping individuals reclaim their lives with dignity and purpose. INVESTING INTO PEOPLE

We believe that true value and real change emerges over time, as a result of healthy relationships, good ideas, sound decision making and a lot of hard work. Here at Tiglin we tackle one of the greatest social problems and challenges facing our nation today. For many years the Tiglin Challenge outreach team have served men and women affected by homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction on our streets.Tiglin gives people with addiction problems a second chance, it gives them life beyond addiction. We strive to help the ‘whole person’, not just the substance abuse. The Tiglin Challenge approach is to teach a whole new way of living by addressing family relationships, work attitudes, self image, peer pressure, temptation, community relationships and a variety of other life skills. This was September at Tiglin.

The Dara Project joined our aftercare centre for a walk, a shared lunch, and real fellowship.

We made our annual visit to Trinity College. A tour of the college and a workshop on the Trinity Access Programme.

The lads got out into Wicklow. Zipit in the forest, and the climb above Lough Tay at Luggala.

The gardaí took on the men's centre in a football match. Friendly, mostly.

The women's centre walked the strand together, staff and residents side by side.

And the Lighthouse threw a recovery day. Serving the community, celebrating the month, and a simple truth on the screen. Tiglin does recovery.

We're so grateful that recovery is possible. And it happens every day.

Life restored.

What a great evening at the Lighthouse!

RCCG Perfect Jubilee House Church hosted a fantastic DJ Bubbles and African Food Extravaganza at the Lighthouse Homeless Café this Sunday.

There was great food, music and plenty of fun and good vibes. joined the celebration, making it another brilliant day shared with our Lighthouse community.

Remembering Frank Kirwan

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Frank Kirwan, who passed away peacefully but unexpectedly this week.

Frank was quiet in character, but his impact was anything but quiet.

His consistency, his heart for people and his deep passion for recovery touched the lives of so many. He never needed to be the loudest voice in the room. He simply showed up, made time for people and believed in them.

This week, we have heard story after story of people who are alive, well and living sober lives today because Frank took the time to encourage them when they were close to giving up.

That is an incredible legacy.

Frank was part of the Tiglin family, and we will miss his presence, his kindness and his unwavering belief in the possibility of recovery.

We are deeply grateful for the life he lived, the people he helped and the hope he gave to so many.

Frank, you will be great missed.

This year, Lisa lost her mum to lung cancer.

She had a choice. Either go back to addiction, or choose recovery. She chose recovery. 

In 2024, she reached a point where she knew enough was enough, and reached out to Tiglin again.

Today she's a support worker in our Women's Rehab Centre in Brittas Bay. The same place she once came through as a student. 

She also worked in our Social Enterprise Cafe, in Greystones.

She's driving, kickboxing, back in education, working & building friendships that last.

What a night at our inaugural Dryrobe Ball. The rain tried to play spoilsport for the first hour, but it didn't dampen anyone's spirits. Once the skies cleared, everyone got into the swing of it and had so much fun.

Weare so grateful to for supporting this fundraiser, and to every volunteer who helped pull the night together.
The Dryrobe Ball will be back in 2027.

A lot of you have been asking if a beach robe is mandatory for next week's Dryrobe Ball. The answer is absolutely not. You can wear any casual beach or summer wear you're comfortable in.
