We enjoyed a really insightful evening at the Shed tonight, joined by Joanna from Willow Domestic Abuse Services formerly MWRSS

Joanna shared important information and statistics on domestic abuse in Ireland, helping to raise awareness of an issue that affects individuals, families, and communities across the country.

The discussion highlighted the many forms domestic abuse can take, including physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, and financial abuse, and the importance of recognising the signs and knowing where to seek support.

A huge thank you to Joanna for taking the time to speak with us and for the invaluable work carried out by Willow in supporting those affected by domestic abuse.

If you, or someone you know, is affected by domestic abuse, whether physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, or coercive control, please know that support is available.

You do not have to face it alone 💜

While core staff salaries and a portion of our operational costs are state-funded, it is the generosity of individuals, businesses, schools and community groups that enables us to provide additional vital supports for women and children affected by domestic abuse, including counselling, play therapy, family activities and the ongoing maintenance of our refuge.

Consider nominating Willow Domestic Abuse Services for this year's AIB Community Fund. Funding from initiatives like this helps us sustain these additional vital supports for women and children experiencing abuse across Co. Meath.

✅ Charity Name: "Willow Domestic Abuse Services"

Happening tomorrow 2pm Ashbourne Library. If you are interested, please register by emailing [email protected]

The Ashbourne Women's Shed has gone from strength to strength over the past two years. It’s been a huge success story. Countless new friendships have been formed, and we’ve been on lots of exciting trips, with many more to come!

The evening women's shed is full, and the waiting list is closed.

Due to high demand for the shed, we are delighted to announce the opening of an afternoon Women’s Shed. The first meeting will be held this Thursday, and every Thursday thereafter, at Ashbourne Library from 2pm to 4pm.

We already have many women signed up for the afternoon shed, but there is still space available for a few more participants.

If you are interested in reserving a space, please contact me directly or my co-chair Paula Cullen. You can also email [email protected].

Please note, this is not a walk-in event. Contact us in advance to avoid disappointment.
