Very sad to hear that Life Style are closing after 20 years on High Street Ashbourne. We hope the staff find alternative employment in the area

On the 24th of May, we unfortunately will be saying goodbye to a long-standing and valued store on High Street 💔

After over 20 years as part of our community, we are sorry to see Lifestyle Sports close its doors.

Announcement of traffic works:-

Dear all,

Please be aware that Colas Joint Venture on behalf of TII plan to begin major resurfacing works at M2 Junction 3 Ashbourne, commencing the night of Monday 27th April preliminarily between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 each night. These works are expected to be completed by June 2nd. If the start time changes, it will not be earlier than a start time of 20:00, and the road will be reopened by 06:00 each morning. I will update you should this change be requested.

The works comprise resurfacing of the Nine Mile Roundabout, the northbound and southbound diverge and merge ramps at M2 Junction 3 and the associated link road in between. In order to complete these works in a safe and timely manner with minimal impact on road users, the works are to be completed by night under full closures of M2 Junction 3 diverges and merges with stop/go traffic management at Nine Mile Roundabout.

For traffic exiting the M2 Motorway when the diverge ramps are closed, traffic approaching from the south (Dublin) should use exit at Junction 2, and follow the signed diversion route via the R135

For traffic exiting the M2 Motorway when the diverge ramps are closed, traffic approaching from the north (Slane) should use exit the roundabout at Pillo Hotel and follow the signed diversion route via the R135

For traffic joining the M2 Motorway northbound or southbound, when the outbound link road and associated merge ramps are closed, drivers should use either Junction 2 (south of Asbourne) or the roundabout at Pillo Hotel (north of Ashbourne)

There will be no works carried out during the day, although due to the nature of the works there will be a temporary speed limit of 60kph in place as traffic will be running on an unfinished road surface with temporary lining in place.

It is our intention to provide a 2-weekly program, with updates if required daily, but at a minimum once a week (Friday). The initial 2 weeks program is provided below:

It is with great sadness we note the passing of Betty Hussey who served as our Chamber President in 1989/90. Betty was an institution in Ashbourne with her hotel, The Ashbourne House, at the centre of everything that was happening in the town. RIP Mrs. Hussey

High Street Ashbourne sharing the feeling

🍀 Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on the High Street 🍀

Unfortunately the Ashbourne St Patrick’s Day parade is not taking place this year. Hopefully it will be back for 2027 with a fresh new take, we will sponsor and support as always. In the meantime join us for some fun, festivities and community spirit on the day 17th of March.

We will be joined by local choir MDB Performance Academy for some festive music, a static cycle with Ashbourne Wheelers, St. Patrick himself will join us for meet & greet. Also some special treats for the little ones!💚
