Cycle Galway to Athlone on Day 1. Stay overnight in Athlone. Cycle Athlone to Laytown Day 2. On the last Saturday of May 2021, (Covid-19 Restrictions permitting), a group of over 50 cyclists (and their bicycles) will be 'bused' from Ashbourne to Galway. There they will breakfast before mounting their bicycles to cycle from the west Coast in Galway to the east Coast in Meath, (Laytown), over the n
ext two days. The group and their support team will overnight in Athlone on the Saturday night, and will enjoy some other "refreshment" breaks along the journey on the Saturday and Sunday. This is not a race, it is a challenge for charity. All participants will start together from the Galway Coast and hopefully everybody will finish together at the east coast in Laytown on the Sunday evening. Participants will help each other along the way, and hopefully will enjoy the experience. Based on previous experience the event is a fun event, with a serious side, which is to raise money for charity. All participants will be required to raise some sponsorship money to support the Charity. Hopefully we get to make this run again this year.
