⚠️ PRODUCT SAFETY ALERT ⚠️

Helly Hansen has issued an urgent recall of hundreds of lifejackets and buoyancy aids sold across Ireland due to a manufacturing fault that could pose a serious drowning risk.

The affected products include certain Sport II size XXS buoyancy aids, as well as all Comfort Compact 50N and Rider Foil Race lifejackets. More than 600 of the affected items were sold through retailers nationwide.

Customers are being advised to stop using the recalled products immediately and contact Helly Hansen to arrange a return. The company is offering either a full refund or a voucher to affected customers.

If you, a family member, or someone in your boating or watersports community owns a Helly Hansen lifejacket, it's worth checking whether it's included in the recall.

Join us on today (Monday June 1st) from 1.30pm as we seal up our time capsule to help us mark our 200th year Volunteering in our community!

We have cases from a huge cross section of our local community which will be placed in the time capsule by members of the groups, once sealed it's scheduled to be opened on the 250th Anniversary of Arklow Lifeboat.

Music, Tea/Coffee/Refreshments will be available.

Arklow RNLI would like to extend our sincere condolences to the Tyrrell family on the passing of John Tyrrell.

John, along with members of the Tyrrell family, gave many years of valued support and dedication to Arklow RNLI and the lifeboat service. His contribution and commitment to the station over the years will always be remembered and greatly appreciated.

As part of John’s wishes, the family have established a GoFundMe page in aid of Arklow Lifeboat.

Arklow RNLI Fundraising Branch would like to extend our sincere thanks to the incredible Mary Nolan Hickey for her continued support of Arklow Lifeboat Station.

Mary’s determination, generosity and community spirit continue to inspire us all, and her recent 400km charity cycle in aid of the station is another amazing achievement.

On behalf of everyone involved with Arklow RNLI, thank you Mary for always going the extra mile in support of our volunteer crew and lifesaving service.

Wicklow’s Mary Nolan Hickey recently completed a solo, self-supported 400km charity cycle in aid of Arklow RNLI, adding another feat of endurance to the record that made her the only woman to complete every Dublin Marathon from 1980 until 2024.

A big thank you to Katie Annesley, her mam Dorothy, and teacher Mr. Paul Cuddihy who visited us this afternoon on behalf of the Sixth Year Senior Prefect Group from Kilkenny College.

The students recently held a fundraiser in memory of Katie’s Dad, Dudley, and today they presented Arklow RNLI with an amazing cheque for €1,250.

We really appreciate the support and generosity from everyone involved. Donations like this make a huge difference and help us continue our lifesaving work at sea.

Thanks again to Katie, Dorothy, Mr. Cuddihy, and all the students involved, it means a lot to us all here at Arklow lifeboat station.
