ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE 2026

Only one week to go until our annual St Patrick’s Day Parade! Across the community and beyond, people are busy planning and preparing for the biggest day in our community calendar. We are hearing that some spectacular and creative floats are currently under construction in homes, businesses, and schools throughout the area.

We would love to see as many groups as possible taking part, so if you are thinking of putting a float together, now is the time to get creating.

The day will begin with free registration of floats at Kilmactigue Community Centre at 3.30 pm, with the parade commencing at 4.30 pm.

We are delighted to announce that this year’s Grand Marshal is local businessman Brendan Flynn of Flynn’s Pub Aclare and Flynn Construction. Tom Concannon will once again take on the role of St Patrick.

Prizes will be awarded to floats in the following categories:

Humorous – Kieran Leonard Cup

Traditional – Kieran McAllister Cup

Topical

Most Imaginative

The Kennedy Bros Perpetual Cup will be awarded to the Best Overall Float.

We have also received a number of enquiries from people wishing to support our St Patrick’s Day Parade fundraiser. If you would like to make a donation, you can give it to any member of the ADC or drop it into Kennedy’s Shop in Aclare.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the day for what promises to be another fantastic community celebration!
