Last June, Costa Rica welcomed us with open arms.

Every smile, every pair of hands, every embrace, every moment of silence and every story became part of something much bigger than a medical mission. They became part of us.

Today, we look back through the eyes Rey, whose unique sensitivity captured not only what happened, but what was felt. His photographs remind us that sometimes the most powerful stories are told without words.

Thank you for giving us this beautiful perspective and for preserving the soul of this journey.

Now, Costa Rica is calling us once again.

Construyendo puentes para generar un impacto real.

El pasado 2 de julio, durante la celebraciĂłn de nuestra Mision en Costa Rica, tuvimos el honor de reunirnos en la Asamblea Legislativa de Costa Rica con la diputada Karol Matamoros Diputada 2026-2030

para compartir la realidad que viven las personas con discapacidad en Talamanca y explorar nuevas vĂ­as de colaboraciĂłn.

En la reunión también participó doña Cristina Atencio Caballero, presidenta de una fundación Dawe Ese Wappa Kimoie, cuya experiencia y conocimiento del territorio indígena enriquecieron el diálogo sobre los desafíos que enfrentan las personas con discapacidad y sus familias.

Tras 8 años trabajando junto a la comunidad indígena BriBri, creemos que el cambio solo es posible cuando sociedad civil, profesionales e instituciones trabajan en la misma dirección. Por ello, pusimos a disposición nuestra experiencia, nuestros programas y nuestra red de profesionales para seguir construyendo soluciones que mejoren el acceso a la atención y la rehabilitación.

Queremos agradecer sinceramente a la diputada Karol Matamoros por su cercanĂ­a, escucha y compromiso durante este primer encuentro. Cada conversaciĂłn es una oportunidad.
Cada alianza puede cambiar vidas.

Seguimos trabajando para que ninguna persona con discapacidad quede atrás.

The closing of a mission that left a deep mark on our hearts

After days of learning, training, service, and human connections that transformed us, our mission in Costa Rica came to its final chapter.

In the Bribri territory of Talamanca, we experienced a very special moment: a farewell and gratitude ceremony that allowed us to close this journey with respect, connection, and appreciation.

This mission has been much more than a health action. It has been a space for mutual exchange, shared learning, and growth alongside the communities who welcomed us with open hearts.

We leave with our hearts full of stories, faces, lessons, and moments that will stay with us forever.

Thank you to everyone who made this journey possible.
Thank you to those who walked this path with us.
Thank you, Costa Rica.

Deep in the heart of Talamanca, Costa Rica, our journey continues.

Every visit to a family, every treatment, every conversation reminds us that healthcare is built on trust, respect, and human connection.

Together with the local community, we are reaching remote villages, supporting families, and working alongside local healthcare professionals to bring care where it is needed most.

This is more than a health program, it is a shared commitment to dignity, hope, and inclusion.

Day 7-8 in Talamanca (Costa Rica)

We’re still working in Amubri, Talamanca, bringing healthcare directly to people’s homes.

Since 2018, we’ve been identifying and documenting people living with disabilities, working hand in hand with local communities and institutions. Beyond providing care, we share knowledge, support local capacity, and help build better pathways so no one is left behind.

Every Health Program leaves a mark. ❤️

After four days of learning, serving, and sharing unforgettable moments, we have completed the first stage of our program at Carlos Luis Valle MasĂ­s Special Education School in Cartago, Costa Rica.

It was a time to reflect, celebrate what we achieved together, and express our gratitude. Dr. Jorge Aranda, President and Founder at HwH, closed this chapter with a heartfelt reflection, reminding us that the greatest impact always begins with human connection.

A special thank you to Vivian, Xavier, and Marco, the school’s physiotherapists, for their dedication, professionalism, and for welcoming us as part of their team. It has been an honour to work alongside you.

We also presented our volunteers with certificates of appreciation, recognizing not only their work, but their commitment, compassion, and the love they brought to every child and family they met.

One last group photo, a few heartfelt goodbyes… and then it was time to hit the road.

Our next stop is Puerto Viejo, where we’ll spend two days recharging before travelling to Talamanca to begin the next chapter of our journey, working alongside Costa Rica’s Indigenous communities.

Thank you to everyone who made this first stage so meaningful.
