Pada hari Kamis, 7 April 2026, tim edukasi mengadakan Lokarya Kelompok Kerja Guru (KKG) gugus I dan II se Kecamatan Nyalindung untuk mengajak guru mengenalakn lebih jauh visi misi Yayasan Konservasi Cikananga Terpadu (YCKT) sekaligus membekali guru-guru tentang edukasi konservasi satwa melalui media pembelajaran interaktif.

Tujuan kegiatan ini, untuk mengajak guru-guru terlibat aktif dalam mengedukasi murid-murid di sekolah masing-masing terkait isu-isu konservasi.

On Thursday, April 7, 2026, the education team conducted a Teacher Working Group (KKG) workshop from Nyalindung, Sukabumi. The workshop aimed to introduce teachers to the vision and mission of Yayasan Konservasi Cikananga Terpadu (YCKT), while also equipping them with knowledge and skills in wildlife conservation education through interactive learning media.

The objective of this activity was to encourage teachers to actively engage in educating their students about conservation issues in their schools.

Musang sering dianggap biasa saja karena mudah ditemukan.
Namun justru itu yang membuat perannya penting.
Mereka mampu hidup di berbagai habitat, dari hutan hingga dekat manusia, sambil menjalankan fungsi ekologis seperti menyebarkan biji dan mengontrol populasi satwa kecil.
Meski saat ini masih berstatus risiko rendah, tren populasinya menunjukkan penurunan akibat tekanan seperti perburuan dan perdagangan.
Melindungi musang bukan hanya tentang satu spesies,
tetapi tentang menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem yang kita semua bergantung padanya.

Musang sehat, planet sehat.

Civets are often overlooked because they are relatively easy to find.
Yet, this is exactly what makes their role so important.
They are highly adaptable, living in a wide range of habitats from forests to areas close to human settlements, while carrying out essential ecological functions such as seed dispersal and regulating small animal populations.
Although currently classified as Least Concern, their population is showing a declining trend due to pressures such as hunting and wildlife trade.
Protecting civets is not just about one species,
but about maintaining the balance of ecosystems that we all depend on.

Healthy civets, healthy planet.

Di setiap kepakannya, julang emas membawa kehidupan.

Mereka menyebarkan benih, membantu hutan tumbuh dan menghubungkan pohon-pohon seperti gebang dalam siklus yang tak terputus.

Namun hilangnya hutan, tekanan manusia, dan perburuan membuat suara mereka kian jarang terdengar.

Di kita diingatkan:
melindungi rangkong berarti menjaga napas hutan tetap ada dan terus bertumbuh.

Mari jaga kelestariannya, hentikan berbagai ancamannya.

In every wingbeat, hornbills carry life.

They scatter seeds, help forests grow, and connect trees like the gebang palm in an unbroken cycle.

Yet forest loss, human pressure, and hunting are making their voices harder to hear.

On WorldLoveHornbillsDay we are reminded:
protecting hornbills means keeping the forest’s breath alive and growing.

Our sun bear cubs Chiko, Indra and Mayu are taking their next big steps 🐻

Indra and Mayu have now been successfully introduced to each other in their new enclosure and they haven’t stopped playing since the very first moment they met. They can finally climb, dig and explore together like young bears should.

A few days ago, Chiko also moved into his new enclosure right next to them, starting with a visual introduction. He has been busy exploring every corner of his new space, while Indra and Mayu are still getting used to the presence of their little neighbour, they carefully watch him from their platform.

With time and patience, we hope they will adapt to each other and eventually share their enclosures together.
An incredibly important step for these young bears social developments, as they were taken from their mothers way too young!

Anak beruang madu kami, Chiko, Indra, dan Mayu, sedang melangkah ke tahap baru 🐻

Indra dan Mayu kini telah berhasil diperkenalkan satu sama lain di kandang baru mereka dan sejak pertama bertemu, mereka tidak berhenti bermain. Mereka akhirnya bisa memanjat, menggali, dan menjelajah bersama seperti anak beruang seharusnya.

Beberapa hari lalu, Chiko juga dipindahkan ke kandang barunya yang berada tepat di sebelah mereka, dimulai dengan perkenalan secara visual. Chiko sibuk menjelajahi setiap sudut kandang barunya, sementara Indra dan Mayu masih membiasakan diri dengan kehadiran tetangga kecil mereka dan dengan hati-hati mengamatinya dari atas platform.

Dengan waktu dan kesabaran, kami berharap mereka dapat saling beradaptasi dan pada akhirnya bisa berbagi kandang bersama.
Langkah yang sangat penting bagi perkembangan sosial anak-anak beruang ini, karena mereka diambil dari induknya saat masih terlalu muda!

Setelah melalui proses penyelamatan, rehabilitasi medis dan perilaku, serta habituasi di lokasi pelepasliaran, satu individu Elang Brontok dan dua individu Kukang Jawa akhirnya kembali ke habitat alaminya di Suaka Margasatwa Cikepuh.

Pelepasliaran ini merupakan hasil kerja kolaboratif antara Yayasan Cikananga Konservasi Terpadu, BBKSDA Jawa Barat, masyarakat lokal, dan para mitra pendukung. Proses adaptasi pascapelepasliaran terus dipantau untuk memastikan satwa mampu bertahan dan hidup liar kembali.

Konservasi adalah upaya jangka panjang—dan setiap dukungan berarti.

After undergoing rescue, medical and behavioral rehabilitation, and a habituation period at the release site, one Changeable Hawk-eagle and two Javan Slow Lorises have returned to their natural habitat in Cikepuh Wildlife Reserve.

This release reflects a collaborative effort between Yayasan Cikananga Konservasi Terpadu, BBKSDA West Java, local communities, and partners. Post-release monitoring continues to ensure the animals can adapt and survive in the wild.

Conservation is a long-term commitment—and every form of support matters.

New Arrivals! 🐒🐊

Last week, we received six new animals:

1 Javan slow loris
1 palm civet
1 long-tailed macaque
3 estuarine crocodiles

Each came from a different background, either having been kept illegally as pets or as a result of human-wildlife conflict.

It is clear that many animals are under increasing pressure as their natural habitats continue to shrink. In search of suitable territory, they often wander into human areas, where they may be captured, kept as pets, or come into conflict with people. Fortunately, these individuals have now been confiscated and are safe at our center. With proper rehabilitation and thorough health screening, we hope they will one day be ready for release back into the wild.

How you can help?
Everyone can play a role in protecting wildlife. If you encounter wild animals being kept as pets, offered for sale, or in distress, please report it to the local authorities (BKSDA) or your nearest wildlife rescue centre. Raising awareness within your community about the importance of keeping wildlife in the wild is also crucial. By choosing not to support the illegal wildlife trade and by sharing accurate information, you help create a safer environment for these species and protect Indonesia’s biodiversity.

‼️ Rescue Update:
Meet Indra & Mayu – Our New Sun Bear Cubs! 🐻🐻

Do you remember Chiko, the little Sun Bear cub who arrived just three months ago? A few days ago, two more young Sun Bears joined our care — Indra and Mayu. Both were kept as pets before being rescued, and at only around 7 to 9 months old, they’re still just babies who need special care and milk in their diet.

They’ve settled in well and are now in quarantine, where we closely monitor their health and comfort. Once they’ve completed this stage, we hope to introduce them to eachother, so they can learn to be real Sun Bears again — climbing, playing, and interacting naturally.

Pembaruan Penyelamatan:
Kenalan dengan Indra & Mayu – Anak Beruang Madu Baru Kami! 🐻🐻

Masih ingat Chiko, anak beruang madu kecil yang datang tiga bulan lalu? Beberapa hari yang lalu, dua anak beruang madu muda lainnya bergabung di pusat kami — Indra dan Mayu. Keduanya sebelumnya dipelihara sebagai hewan peliharaan sebelum akhirnya diselamatkan. Di usia sekitar 7 hingga 9 bulan, mereka masih sangat muda dan membutuhkan perawatan khusus, termasuk susu dalam menu hariannya.

Mereka sudah mulai beradaptasi dengan baik dan kini sedang menjalani masa karantina, di mana kami memantau kesehatan dan kenyamanan mereka dengan cermat. Setelah masa ini selesai, kami berharap bisa memperkenalkan mereka satu sama lain agar mereka bisa belajar menjadi beruang madu sejati — memanjat, bermain, dan berinteraksi secara alami.
