[ SPEXPLORATION 8 ]

Ignite your engines! 🚀

Energy flows through the world’s most critical maritime routes, and the Strait of Hormuz stands at the center of global oil transportation. As one of the busiest energy corridors, nearly 20% of global oil trade passes through this narrow strait every day. Rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East raise concerns about potential disruptions that could significantly impact global oil supply, energy prices, and economic stability. Understanding these risks highlights how geopolitics and energy security are deeply interconnected in shaping the future of the oil and gas industry.

📘 Event Report: SPE Guest Lecture 2

On February 28, 2026, SPE UNDIP SC successfully held SPE Guest Lecture 2 as an online webinar titled “EPC Beyond Theory: Understanding Real-World Oil & Gas Project Execution.”

This session explored the practical implementation of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project delivery model within the oil and gas industry. The discussion highlighted how EPC integrates engineering design, procurement management, and construction ex*****on into a single project framework, while addressing key aspects such as decision-making processes, risk allocation, cost control, and schedule management.

Through expert insights and an interactive Q&A session, participants gained a clearer perspective on how EPC projects are executed in real industry settings, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and professional practice. The webinar encouraged students to develop a more comprehensive understanding of project-based thinking and the competencies required to navigate complex oil and gas projects.
