What if tourism could restore nature, empower communities, and create meaningful human connection beyond borders? ๐๐
We are grateful to host the 2nd Batch of .epictrips in Lombok, welcoming 17 impact travelers led by Miss Earth 2024 from Australia.
Throughout the journey, participants explored Lombok while directly supporting our community-led coral reef restoration initiative across the Gilis Islands through DSD sessions, coral assembling, coral planting, and scuba diving activities. ๐ชธ๐คฟ
Beyond the ocean, they also:
๐ Explored Mount Tunak by open vehicle
๐ฅ Experienced Presean at Ende Sasak Village
๐ง Visited Benang Kelambu Waterfall, part of the UNESCO Global Geopark
๐ Rode scooters inside the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, the only international circuit among Indonesiaโs 17,000 islands
During their free time, participants joined our stingless beekeeping initiative at Bagek Kembar Mangrove Ecotourism, part of the Ecological Mangrove Restoration program supported by . ๐ฑ๐
Together, they also planted mangroves as a symbol of carbon compensation and the lasting growth of this initiative.
Most importantly, all profits from this program will support Bale Nara Lombokโs startup accelerator initiative, currently helping develop , a backpacker impact-travel business led by .
Because traveling is not only about the places you visit, but also about the people you experience it with. The friendships created, the memories shared, and the impact left behind are what truly make a journey meaningful.
This program is proof that tourism does not have to be destructive. It can also be constructive. ๐๐
Thank you .epictrips
