Forest fires are raging across Borneo and Sumatra. Fuelled by Godzilla El Nino with extremely dry weather. I’ve seen the wildfire myself back in July, when i was photographing Himba Raya Indonesia Foundation team of young volunteers, who did tree planting and monitoring in deforested areas around Sebangau National Park. The park known as the native place for the largest population of wild orangutans, and also as massive carbon storage. When peatland burns - it burns underground releasing huge amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere - the haze we breath in even in Singapore.

I’ve seen the massive smoke from peatland across the road from our campsite. And it’s been going non-stop for two months since July until now. Currently the fire reached the area with newly planted trees.

Firefighters volunteers are on the ground battling the fire, often stay and sleep in the forest to continue next day. They need support with:

- Food supplies and clean drinking water
- Daily stipends for volunteer firefighters (non-govt)
- Firefighting equipment
- Medicine (Mask, oxygen, vitamin, etc)
- Water pumps and support gear
- Boreholes and water reservoirs
