Apalagi untuk bangunan, bambu masih dinilai tidak kuat, tidak tahan lama dan murahan. Padahal bambu dapat digunakan untuk menciptakan bangunan yang sangat indah dan bahkan jembatan bentang lebar. Bangunan dan konstruksi bambu
masih sangat kurang di Sumatera. Untung beberapa rumah tradisional yang menggunakan bambu untuk strukturnya masih bisa dijumpai di beberapa tempat. Mari berbagi ide, foto, video, penelitian dan informasi apa saja mengenai bambu. Bamboo plants are widely found on the island of Sumatra. Bamboo is commonly used for the structure of the traditional houses in Sumatra since along time ago. Some houses can still be found in Pematang Purba, Lingga Village, Bawomataluo Village, Maninjau and other places in Sumatera. Unfortunately, the use of bamboo in Sumatra is currently limited to low-cost houses, chicken houses, and fruit baskets. The use of bamboo for modern housing and public facilities rarely found in Sumatra. Infact, bamboo is a miracle material which could create infinite structural forms, unique architectural shapes and other modern industrial products. Bamboo is also believed to be wood of the future to replace timber because it gives zero impact to the nature degradation and big benefit for environmental conservation.
