After some time, we are happy to bring our disability client meetings back again, with the generous support of The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
This time, our meeting focused on learning about Trigona bee farming and how it can be developed into a small business and potential source of income.
What made this meeting especially meaningful was that one of the people sharing his knowledge was one of our own clients. He has spent years developing his experience in Trigona bee farming and was able to share what he has learned with other clients who are interested in exploring this livelihood opportunity.
We believe that valuable knowledge does not always come from outside. Sometimes, it grows within the community itself. By creating opportunities for our clients to share their skills and experiences, we hope to encourage learning, confidence, and greater economic independence among people with disabilities.
We are grateful to CFLI for supporting the return of these client meetings and helping us create spaces where our clients can learn, connect, and grow together.
This is what community empowerment looks like: learning from one another, sharing what we know, and creating opportunities together.
