Two weeks. A whole lot of learning. And even more time underwater. 🪸🌊

During her Reef Assistant Program, Emily learned how to identify hard corals, conduct ecological health surveys, design an artificial reef, and even bring that design to life.

From learning the science on land to putting it into practice underwater, this is what hands-on marine conservation looks like.

Thank you for spending these two weeks learning, diving, and conserving with us, Emily! 💙

Want to do more than just dive? Come learn how to understand, monitor, and help protect the reef with us.

Ready to take your diving beyond exploration and into real conservation work? 🪸🤿

Our 2-week Reef Assistant Program combines marine science, scientific diving, ecological monitoring, and hands-on coral restoration in the reefs of Gili Air.

Learn to identify reef life, conduct ecological surveys, maintain coral nurseries, build artificial reefs, and outplant corals, all while contributing directly to reef restoration.

📅 Starts 6 October 2026
📍 Gili Air, Indonesia
🌊 2 weeks of coral reef science & restoration

Come dive with purpose and become part of the next generation of reef conservationists.

September is Coral Bleaching Awareness Month. 🪸

A reminder to look closer at our reefs, understand the signs of coral stress, and recognize the growing pressures they face.

Because awareness is where action begins. 💙🌊

The beach ain’t cleaning itself. 🌊

Conservation isn’t only about what happens underwater. It also starts right here, on our shores.

Every Thursday afternoon, we came together for a beach clean-up, because keeping our island and ocean healthy is something we all have a part in.

It doesn’t take one person doing everything. It takes all of us doing something. 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up and got their hands dirty with us. These are the heroes our ocean needs. 🫶

More than a beautiful reef.

When we look at a coral reef, it's easy to admire the colors, the fish, and the incredible biodiversity. But beneath that beauty is something even more remarkable.

Every coral colony is made up of tiny animals called coral polyps, working together over decades, even centuries, to build one of the most diverse ecosystems on Earth. These living structures provide food, shelter, and nursery habitats for nearly 25% of all marine species, despite covering less than 1% of the ocean floor.

And the more scientists study corals, the more extraordinary they become. From recognizing "self" and "non-self" through a process called allorecognition, to showing signs of adapting to marine heat stress, corals continue to challenge what we thought we knew about life beneath the waves.

This Coral Reef Awareness Week, let's celebrate not only the beauty of coral reefs, but also the remarkable science that reminds us why they are worth protecting.

Because every healthy reef is more than just a beautiful dive site, it's a living testament to resilience, connection, and life itself. 🪸💙

What if your next dive could help restore a coral reef? 🪸

The Reef Assistant Program is a two-week immersive conservation experience where you'll go beyond recreational diving and become part of an active coral restoration team.

Work alongside our marine biologists, learn the science behind reef restoration, and gain hands-on experience through scientific diving, ecological surveys, coral nursery maintenance, artificial reef construction, and coral outplanting.

This isn't a volunteer holiday or a simulated training. You'll contribute to real conservation projects that are helping restore coral reefs around Gili Air.

Whether you're looking to expand your diving experience, explore a career in marine conservation, or simply want to give something back to the ocean, this program is designed for divers who want to make every dive count.

📅 Next Cohort: 15 July 2026
⏱️ Duration: 2 Weeks
📍 Gili Air, Indonesia

⚠️ Prerequisite: Minimum Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent) with good buoyancy skills, as much of the program involves working directly on coral reefs.

Spaces are limited. Send us a DM or visit the link in our bio to secure your place.

Most people picture sea turtle conservation as protecting nests or releasing hatchlings into the ocean.

But one of the most important parts of conservation happens before any hatchling reaches the sea: education.

Every hatchling encounter is an opportunity to share simple but important lessons, why hatchlings shouldn't be handled unnecessarily, how artificial lights can disorient them, and why giving them space increases their chances of survival.

These conversations may only last a few minutes, but their impact can last much longer. When visitors understand the "why" behind responsible wildlife interactions, they leave not only with a memorable experience, but also with the knowledge to help protect sea turtles wherever they go.

Conservation isn't just about protecting wildlife. It's about inspiring people to become part of the solution.

Together with MMF Indonesia, we're helping protect sea turtles through research, monitoring, and education, one hatchling, one conversation, and one informed visitor at a time.

🐢 Because every conversation can make a difference.

Every sea turtle you see has survived an incredible journey.

From hatching beneath the sand, crossing a beach full of predators, drifting through the open ocean for years, and eventually navigating thousands of kilometers back to the very beach where it was born, it’s one of nature’s most extraordinary life cycles.

Yet despite surviving millions of years of evolution, sea turtles now face threats created by humans: plastic pollution, ghost nets, coastal development, and climate change.

By protecting healthy reefs, clean beaches, and our oceans, we’re helping ensure the next generation of hatchlings has the same chance to complete this remarkable journey.

🌊 Every turtle has a story. Let’s help keep it going.
