At this point, the real question isn’t whether Slipknot will lose another member… it’s who’s next?

Paul Gray was the first major loss in 2010. Joey Jordison departed in 2013 and sadly passed away in 2021. Chris Fehn was gone in 2019, Craig Jones followed in 2023, and Jay Weinberg was shown the door later that same year. Then, in 2026, Sid Wilson became the latest longtime member to leave the band.

BREAKING: Sid Wilson has reportedly been fired from Slipknot after 28 years with the metal legends.

According to TMZ, a source close to the band with direct knowledge claims Wilson was informed late on Friday, July 31, that he had been permanently removed from the group. The reason behind the reported decision remains unclear.

Known to Slipknot fans as #0, Wilson joined the Iowa metal band in 1998 as its classic nine-member lineup was taking shape. His turntable scratches, samples and unsettling sound effects became a defining part of Slipknot’s sound and live performances over nearly three decades.

Wilson’s reported exit would bring an end to one of the longest-running tenures in the band’s history and mark another major change to Slipknot’s lineup.

At the time of writing, no explanation has been given for the reported firing. More details are expected if Wilson or Slipknot issues an official statement.

The recent incident involving Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante has sparked widespread discussion across the metal community. During the band's performance in Phoenix, Arizona, as part of Evanescence's North American tour, Courtney unexpectedly stopped the show after learning that a concertgoer was behaving aggressively in the mosh pit.

Before performing the closing song, "Soft Spine," drummer Zev Rose noticed the disturbance from behind his drum kit and alerted Courtney. She immediately paused the performance and made it clear that the band would not continue until the situation was under control and everyone in the front of the crowd was safe. Courtney then asked fans to identify the individual responsible so security could remove him from the venue. After the situation was resolved, she reminded the audience that a rock concert is not a place for violence, saying:

«"This isn't the damn gold medal karate match, okay? This is a rock 'n' roll show."»

In my opinion, what Courtney LaPlante did was absolutely the right decision and deserves respect. Metal concerts are known for mosh pits, circle pits, and high-energy performances, but they have always been guided by one fundamental principle: respect and look out for one another.

A mosh pit is not a place to intentionally hurt people or prove who is the toughest. The metal community has long been built on solidarity. When someone falls, others help them back up. When someone feels unsafe, everyone should work together to make sure every fan can enjoy the show without fear.

That's why I fully support Courtney's decision to stop the performance until the situation was under control. The safety of the audience must always come first, and taking firm action against anyone acting violently was the right thing to do.

At the end of the day, a concert is about much more than loud music or an intense mosh pit. It's a place where thousands of people who share the same passion for music come together to build friendships, show mutual respect, and create unforgettable memories. That is the true spirit of the metal community, and it's something every metalhead should continue to uphold wherever they are.

Corey Taylor’s Son, Griffin, Says He Cried After Reading ‘Hate Comments’ About His Band VENDED

Griffin Taylor, the son of Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, has openly shared the emotional challenges he's faced as the lead vocalist of the metal band Vended.

In a candid interview with Knotfest's Ryan J. Downey, Griffin revealed that reading negative comments about his band online deeply affected him. He recounted an instance where he read hate comments on YouTube, which led him to fill a bathtub and cry, expressing that he was in a very bad place emotionally before finding solace with his bandmates.

Vended, formed in 2018 in Des Moines, Iowa, features Griffin Taylor on vocals and Simon Crahan, son of Slipknot's Shawn "Clown" Crahan, on drums. The band also includes guitarists Cole Espeland and Connor Grodzicki, and bassist Jeremiah Pugh. They released their debut EP, "What Is It/Kill It," in November 2021, showcasing a heavy sound that, while reminiscent of Slipknot, aims to establish its own identity.

Griffin has expressed frustration over constant comparisons to Slipknot, emphasizing that Vended is a distinct entity with its own musical direction. Despite the challenges, he remains committed to creating music that speaks from his soul and resonates with listeners on a personal level.

Corey Taylor has publicly expressed immense pride in his son's endeavors, acknowledging Griffin's talent and dedication to his craft. In an interview, Corey remarked on how Griffin is "crushing it" as the frontman of Vended and praised the band's new material, highlighting the impressive performances of all members.
