Social justice in politics, the economy and in the society is one of our leading principles worldwide. In Indonesia we have been carrying out various activities to support the Social Security Reform, Welfare state, and Social Economic Development in recent years. FES Indonesia strives to contribute to these overall FES objectives and through its long-standing cooperation with the Indonesian Government and the MoU with the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) FES contributes to Indonesia´s national agenda of development to achieve the SDG´s. Within this national agenda (Asta Cita), Kemenko PMK and FES focus their cooperation on:

1. Strengthening health, gender equality, role of women and youth
2. Strengthening economic equality in the transition to a digitalized and green economy
4. Strengthening the ideology of Pancasila, democracy and human rights
5. Strengthening conducive international relations

The Foundation's activities are conducted mostly in cooperation with the Partner Ministry Kemenko PMK (Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Culture), other relevant state agencies, Universities and civil society organizations through various instruments such as conference, seminars, workshops, round-table discussions, trainings, role plays, scholarships and publications. FES Indonesia also facilitates international dialogue by sending official delegations, experts, academics and senior journalists to Germany and overseas. Occasionally, we invite German and European policymakers, professionals as well as academics to give presentations in Indonesia.

And we are ready for Day 2 JTFA 2025 🤩

🌏 Just Transition Forum Asia 2025 opens with an urgent call for action ahead of !

The opening panel, “Strengthening Multi-Stakeholder Engagement for Progressive Outcomes on Just Transition at COP30,” set the tone for inclusive, justice-driven climate action in the lead-up to November’s UN Climate Change Conference in Belém, Brazil.

Speaker highlights:

🌟 Tariye Gbadegesin (Climate Investment Funds): “Decision-makers must listen to those on the sharp end of the transition, rethink how change is delivered, and invest in new opportunities and protections for the most vulnerable.”

🌟 Jeanette T. Damo (Philippines DOLE – Institute for Labor Studies): Urged a whole-of-society, time-bound transition; faster renewable deployment; international cooperation; and strong safeguards for vulnerable groups.

🌟 Tasneem Essop (Climate Action Network International): Called for justice—procedural, distributive, and international—at the center of climate action, and for a Belém Action Mechanism under the Just Transition Work Programme to drive equity and Global North–South cooperation.

🌟 Dr. Eva Kracht (Germany’s Environment Ministry): Stressed people-centred climate policy, capturing co-benefits like jobs and development, strengthening social dialogue, and using platforms such as Just Energy Transition Partnerships (JETPs) to align national priorities with fair and inclusive transitions.

🌟 Satoshi Tamai (ITUC–Asia Pacific): Called for COP30 to be an implementation COP—with a permanent Belém mechanism, mainstreamed labor rights and social dialogue, grant-based climate finance, a phaseout of fossil-fuel subsidies, gender equality, and the defense of democracy and workers’ rights.

🌟 Amb.-Designate Daniella Ortega Menezes (Brazil): Introduced Brazil’s vision of Mutirão—collective work that turns pledges into action while keeping people and nature at the center.
