Intern ID InternID connects qualified candidates with leading businesses in Indonesia through structured internships

InternID is a gathering of Indonesians who believe that nurturing Indonesia’s future leaders—one individual at a time—is key to strengthening our country. We aim to help create a platform for elevating the quality of input into the professional talent pool by inviting back the Indonesian Diaspora and facilitating a thriving internship culture. While working at McKinsey, Teguh Situmorang found it v

ery difficult to find the right Indonesian talent. On the flip side, while exploring employment opportunities in Jakarta, Christina Tjahjana and Marissa Soeryadjaya found a lack of well-structured paid internships at Indonesian companies. Recognizing the importance of good internships for both students and companies, they decided to partner to help create the platform for well-structured internships in Indonesia, with first focus on Indonesian talent overseas. InternID firmly believes that internships should be a mutually beneficial experience for both the intern and the company. To ensure that our interns will excel and maximize their learning through the program, InternID will provide support and guidance before, during and after the duration of the internship. Before their internship begins, InternID will provide interns with basic professional training, such as effective communication and teamwork, negotiation skills and conflict management. We also work with our corporate partners to structure their internships so that interns will have clear tasks to complete and goals to achieve, such as research, incubating new ideas, developing marketing materials or financial models. During the internship, InternID volunteers will be available for guidance to interns, providing mentorship and advice on how to navigate the professional world. We also expect the companies to provide feedback sessions at the middle and the end of the internship in order to review the intern’s progress. InternID will also host a number of Speakers Series, which take the form of roundtables, seminars or presentations by an executive from each participating company. At the end of the program, InternID will survey the interns and corporate partners to collect feedback and input on the quality of the internship experience. InternID will also host an opening and closing party for participants. This will offer everyone a fun way to begin and end the program. Giving them the chance to socialize, share stories about their experiences and network with the InternID team and the larger intern group.
