Feels like summer! Tuesday evenin... Their 1st time rowing as a crew - in a 4+. Focused on balance, timing and connection.
After the row, 2 seat commented: "My brain hurts." Thanks to coxswain in training , the crew arrived safely back on shore.

Breezey morning for this Women's 4x. Session consisted of short sets, some drills to improve the roll up to square at the catch. Technically, the crew agreed the spread was short; making it difficult to manage oar handles, particularly at the finish. Before the next row, the boat will be placed in slings and likely, the crew will make a spread adjustment after a precise measurement.
It's the little things.

Always a pleasure to showcase Northern Michigan to visiting rowers. Hope to see Andy later this season at Masters Nationals. Conditions were not ideal but, the conversation was free and easy.

Sunday salute to those rowers (and our coxswain) who patiently waited to launch. A good early season row in conditions that were not ideal. Northern Michigan crews have the mettle.

Open Row Sunday May 17. 2026. Members took to the water for the 1st time this season. A NE 7-10 mph wind did not deter these experienced rowers.
Both boats stayed in a sheltered area and worked the winter kinks out. Thanks to our regular Sunday coxswain, Erica. The crew had their first eagle encounter of the year and even a spectator cheering them on from the shore. Rowers enjoyed being back on the water...the season is young!

A HUGE thanks to everyone who came out Saturday & worked together to get our fleet ready to row!

Spring Sessions at Lake Leelanau are currently live in iCrew and we'd love to have you toggle in this coming week for OPEN ROWS or ORGANIZED ROWS.
Open Row means you will toggle in, and the coach will assign you to boats & seats - it's different each time!
If you want to organize a Team Boat for regular Organized Rows each week, designate a Boat Captain, gather your roster of members, and email [email protected] with the session day(s), time(s) and your requested boat preference.
See you on the water!

Successful rigging day! Thanks to all who put the work in to ready our fleet to take to the water. Finished the day with a cookout, catching up on winter adventures and 2026 season plans.
Special thanks to neighbor Randy, who helped us finish the Spring cleaning. Neighbor Tom stopped by to renew friendships and share his winter adventures in Annapolis, MD. Ice storm, then heavy snow, followed by long below freezing days. The U.S. Navy sent midshipmen to help the small town shovel outback.
